We stayed for one night and had a lovely host family who welcomed us with homemade tea and drove us to the local onsen and sushi shop. The guesthouse was very cute and cozy and had a little balcony for us to sit and watch the snow fall! Highly recommend!

A ski pass sales point and ski storage space are available at Pension Moomin Papa, and guests can go skiing in the surroundings. Papa was so lovely. It was a beautiful traditional guest house. I had breakfast too and it was lovely. I also really appreciated lifts too and from ski school and to the train station. It was honestly such a beautiful stay and I will be back. For any solo travellers, it was a very family vibe and I felt very welcome. Thank you Papa!

Offering ski-to-door access and ski storage space, Belle Vue Nishiura is located in Minami Uonuma in the Niigata Region, a 3-minute walk from Ishiuchi-Maruyama Ski Resort. The property offers a free shuttle service. Free private parking is available on site. I arrived at the closest station at around 8pm and it got so dark. Usually I would take care of myself, but I saw the photo list poster of the criminals at the station and there was just no one on the street. I texted to the owner that I was scared walking to the hotel, then the owner drove to pick me up immediately. I felt very thankful for that. The hotel was comfortable, clean and with a mountain View. There was also an onsen in the shower room. Free tea and coffee in the large dining room, which also have a pretty view. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Amazing place - lovely and very comfortable, with extremely friendly and helpful staff. They speak decent English, but also have good systems set up with WhatsApp and Google Translate and nothing is too much trouble. The onsen are beautiful and the food in the restaurant is just delicious.

Location was great and they had all the facilities you’d need, including onsite ski rental. The breakfast was wonderful everyday and having the option of the public onsen or booking in a private onsen was a real bonus. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
