A short stay at this Ryokan was exceptional! We booked for one day and were greeted with many friendly staff members. They were very helpful in giving us directions and tour of our open bath room. We went during a slower day so was able to experience the public bath to ourselves. Our own private bath was also very comfortable and relaxing. On top of this, you must experience the traditional breakfast and dinner menu, the food was unique and quite filling! Lastly, although the location is farther from the train station, they offer free shuttles, highly recommend!

Location was amazing, just around the corner from the main road in Arashiyama and perfect to wake up early to have the Bamboo Forest practically to yourself. Staff were very friendly and polite, adding to the Ryokan experience. They provided us with informative information, and prepared the room perfectly for us. The room itself was amazing and spotless. We had a private onsen with an incredible view overlooking the river.

Lovely place. The staff was great and friendly. The onsens were really beautiful and spacious. And the hours of access were also long so we had a lot of flexibility. There are two types of onsen and you can try one type per day (gender divided). Yukatas were provided and nice little snacks and tea in the room. The futons were comfortable and there was air-conditioning. We had dinner at the associated restaurant too and it was so good! Just be sure to know that if you take the breakfast that it's a japanese style breakfast (cold fish, egg, miso soup, rice, side dishes, etc.). Beautiful presentation and I enjoyed it!

The staff were amazing. We felt very spoilt and it was very restful. The private onsen was unrivalled. The meals were an absolute highlight - being able to experience traditional Japanese style. Attention to detail was amazing.

Wonderful Ryokan - serene location with onsen which was fabulous . Good sized room . Staff were lovely and the full Japanese breakfast was ‘different ‘ but an amazing experience . Dressing gown , slippers and traditional clothing provided which added to making it a unique Japanese experience . Shuttle service to and from the station is also a big plus and extremely helpful.

Exceptionally friendly, food outstanding and room utterly clean. They were so happy and excited about my 15month old baby and made sure he was comfortable as well. Ryokan and Onsen experience was one of a kind. I wish I could have booked more than one night.

I loved this Ryokan - it was a little far from town but that is what we were wanting. It was so beautiful and a great experience for Japanese culture. I loved experiencing the traditional breakfast. The tea and treat you get at the start was also super fun. The private onsen was amazing and great for people with tattoos

The outdoor onsen was quite pleasant. It was just us when we went to the onsen so in a way it was like our own private onsen. The futon was very comfortable. The shampoo was really nice smelling and the experience when we were waiting for our rooms to be made was pleasant.

It looks new and modern but they found the way to keep the tradition japanese atmosphere inside the hotel. There fountains with koi, zen gardens, kabuki mask on the walls illuminated by traditional japanese lamps. The tatami rooms have everything you can ask for a complete experience in a ryokan, in particular if you get the one with the private bath. Food is simply delicious.
