If I could give this amazing place 15 I would have. The attention to detail was amazing.
Old school charm, very clean.
I wish we had thought to bring wood to sit in the boma and just have a fire going under the stars!

I love the whole set up. My son loved the games and the comfort of the electric blanket. The shower was really nice and spacious. The bedding soft and clean, and the towels too.

The owners went beyond expectations, and I got stuck without petrol, about 20 km outside Calvinia. I phoned the owners at 24::00 and told them I would not make it to the accommodation for the night. Francois did not hesitate to offer me assistance! Thank you very much! The accommodation was comfortable and very clean. Thank you yet again!

Sadly most of the Karoo towns we passed through are reflect the poverty and neglect of the Northern Cape with deteriorating infrastructure and litter everywhere. Sad to see this beautiful part of our country being forgotten by the National Government.

Nieuwoudtville is a spectacular must visit in the flower season. I keep meaning to visit out of season to compare. I'm sure the people will be just as helpful and friendly.
Do make time for a flower tour on the Hantam reserve. Wonderful knowledgeable guide - Simphiwe.
Ask the tourism ladies for best recommendations of which areas are best as the time of your visit.

Pity we couldn't find a nursery to buy some plants but then again it was a Saturday. Safe town to walk around in. NG church building and yard is kept in a good condition. Impressive building. The blue Nartjie's food was we prepared and tasty. The pizzas at Ciela's was excellent! Both places seems to be very popular.

Nieuwoudtville is a unique ecological area with a number of attractions, such as the Namaqualand flowers in August/September, the nearby quiver tree forests, the glacial beds etc. Our accommodation at Linda se Dop was outstanding too - very spacious and comfortable, with excellent dinners and breakfasts added in.

Calvinia is a very clean quite Karoo Dorp. Did not have time to visit the museum, but sure it would be very interesting. Beautiful Church, the big postbox and Morris cafe across the road. Bought the best karoo Lamb at Calvinia Butchery. Had the best view and excellent sundown.

Friendly and helpful people, this little town thrives in the flowering season. For the rest it is a quiet little town. Traditional food of the region is also available like " roosterkoek" etc. The flowers in and around the town was unbelievable, we did not travel to other regions. Nieuwoudtville was tops.
