we did a great walking tour with Emily (of https://www.likeitformosa.com/ ) of the Old Anping area. She has a great knowledge of Tainan's history and culture. We also enjoyed the Tainan Art Museum (the newer Building 2) exhibitions of contemporary artists' work. There's an excellent restaurant on level 5. Walking the streets is a great way to discover the architectural variety of the city, from Japanese colonial era to contemporary landmarks to traditional temples. The city is excellent and offers a great deal of places to visit, like Hayashi Store for some amazing souvenirs, Confucius Temple to appreciate the ancient learning and culture, a lot of Museums to showcase the art and history of the city, and the fantastic night markets for local cuisine of Tainan.
