We moved rooms once due to a mould smell and our new room was much better with better water pressure too. Staff were great, it's paradise. Booked an extra week. I see other reviews saying you have to walk to get to your room. It's true that old people may struggle but anyone else it's very short and beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the beds are huge. There is also a restaurant that serves very good food. No working ATMs can be a problem if you don't have scan and pay. I don't like carrying that much cash. Other than that, its a perfect quiet get away. Everything i needed was in walking distance. There are many good restaurants and places to sit on the beach at night. But is not a party island. You don't have to worry about loud music late into the night.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years.
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years. It now feels much more like a tourist hot spot than a quiet island escape… and it’s still developing. You can still find only moderately-populated powder white beaches however, with some of the best local on-beach restaurants anywhere in the country. And it’s only 50B for a shaded deckchair all day. In terms of negatives it can become overpopulated on weekends, and in the high season, and can be very scruffy in places when you go in land.
