United KingdomThe location is unreal! It’s totally away from the huddle and bustle, perfect for us and wanting to be in a tranquil escape. It was so peaceful listening to the waves and birds at night and mornings. It’s a small complex so always plenty of deck chairs and places to sit and not many guests. Feels like a prefect private place to have a break. The owners are so passionate about giving you a perfect stay. They collected us from the pier and dropped us off. When we arrived we had a fresh coconut and mango sticky rice. Our room was very large, great working new air con too. Shower was powerful and hot. They went above and beyond more times than we could count we extended our stay once there as it was so perfect. From free coffee, breakfast, free kayaks, they arranged scooters for us and helmets too, advised us places to go. It was just so perfect! We will definitely be back. After all that and more they even gave us a small gift as we left. Thank you

The staff is incredibly good. I loved them. Beautiful, large rooms with incredible sea views. The hotel services were excellent. Great service, great breakfast and excellent cuisine. I think this is the first hotel that has free kayak, paddle board rentals. A surprise for me was also the tee/coffee time every afternoon where you could refresh yourself. You can rent a stylish scooter directly at the reception for a fee of 300bth per day, which is great. I have been traveling to Thailand for many years, but this was one of the best stays for me. A small minus during our stay were some ill-mannered noisy guests who did not respect the peace of the night and, for my taste, many families with babies. Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great.
