Fantastic location. Walking distance to the National Park and restaurant. Breathtaking views. Waking up to a clear blue sky and all the peaks in view on Nov. 7 was an unforgettable experience.

Wonderful staff! Many thanks to the lovely woman we exchanged with who has been so kind with helping us with our trip. Very lovely shared space and kitchen. Location is great and so close to the other hotel (5 minutes walk) that if you do not want to cook yourself, you can enjoy next door restaurant facilities.

A truly exceptional place. Shearers quarters from 1900 given modern update but without losing any of the character.
Crisp linen on really comfortable beds in absolute quiet. The drive there along a gravel road give the best views of Mt Cook that you will see.
Kitchen modern and stocked like home
Lovely meeting Alana and hearing about life on the farm and bringing up a family..
Wonderful.. Not to be missed.

It was a real privilege to be able to spend two nights at this fantastic location. Our hut was very comfortable and the nearby shared kitchen and bathroom hut was well equipped. Our host Alana was very welcoming and provided lots of useful information. We spent a lovely day at the station doing the nearby suggested walks and were lucky enough to watch the early morning clouds lift and get a view later on of Mount Cook. The clear skies on our second night afforded us a great view of the Milky Way.
By the way, the gravel road up to the station is by no means difficult to negotiate and the end result is most definitely worth it.

Mount Cook Village is a great location if you are planning to do some walks in the area. We did the Hooker Valley Track, Sealy Tarn Track, and the Tasman Glacier View after which we were exhausted and travelling to another location would have been a bit much. Staying at the village was the best decision. At night you can travel slightly out to get the most exceptional views of stars and in the morning you wake up to unbelievably beautiful views of mountains. If you are lucky you might just get some snow.

Awesome landscape views and friendly info center staff, but some tourist sites such asTasman Glacier and White of the toilets had signs "Closed during Winter", which was so inconvenient for tourists.

Hooker valley trek is the main attraction there and it is closed right now
The alternate to that trek is the Sealy Tarns trek which is pretty okay
There are not too many options to eat there so it is a better option to buy your own food before you get here as there arent grocery shops here as well.

We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village.
We loved the convenient location of the mount cook village. It was nice being so close to the hermitage where all the activities were based from. Even though the motel/lodge was less luxurious than the hermitage, the rooms were still very lovely (and had heated floors!). Although it wasn't the best value compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip, the convenient location makes it very worth it.
