Nice location for all sorts of excursions; viewing the close city, going for hikes in the area, visiting the famous Geiranger - which one can do with a 4 h boat trip each way. We loved that we were here in off season so, it wasn’t packed with people. We got lucky with the weather too. We definitely will recommend! We loved the hike to the waterfalls, seeing the goats & llamas. We ate lunch in the cute cafe across from the hotel and had pizza in the bar. Damn cruise ships - block the view and disgorge 1000's who monopolize the gondola.... hello cruisers, there are other people in the world you know - and we're not loud & obnoxious - come all the way from New Zealand to hear loud & obnoxious - sheesh .... I went to Kristiansund primarily because it is so well connected and I wanted to visit a small Norwegian town on my way to Trondheim. Very small and cozy place. The view is spectacular! You can feel peace around. Supermarket is quite far but if you have a car is no problem.Also if you need some shopping you can go to Moa which is 15 min by car. There's a ferry and a bus stop. A property that could do with some face-lift such as better and faster service offerings. Albeit negative reviews, was pleasantly surprised to experience the opposite. It was quiet & with a fresh breeze from the sea, but sort of out in the middle of nowhere with not a lot of hiking or running nearby. We had booked four days which was too long. Two days would’ve been good. The cabins all looked pretty run down with peeling paint etc. Bathroom in our cabin was renovated, so that & bedroom was nice, but kitchen/living room was so-so - especially for that very expensive price. The photo's of Kronborg Marina are a lie. The house shown on your website is where the caretaker stays.....not the guests. That includes the scenery from the house......we did not have that scenery.....the caretaker has it....... The bistro and bar and meals do not exist....it is closed down. A two night stay gave us one complete day in Alesund. Well worth walking up the 418 steps to the viewpoint. I would recommend Racoon bakery, delicious cinnamon bun and hot chocolate. Unfortunately the glass studio was temporarily closed.Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom
