- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 101 reviewsHugo, the Inn Keeper, was maybe the best host we've ever experienced. He made us feel so incredibly welcome and was full of suggestions about where to go and drives to take. We cooked our own dinner in the kitchen provided in the annex building but he invited us over to the main lodge to eat it in the lovely main room and set a beautiful table for us, offering and pouring an excellent bottle of wine (we bought 2, it was so good) and surprising us with waffles for dessert. Breakfast was a plentiful spread with many options from yogurt/granola to cold cuts and fruit. Lots more than that. All super fresh and beautifully presented. And when we said goodbye he sent us off with warm waffles for the road.Guest review byMarkUnited States
- From $108.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 543 reviewsBooked for a night, to take a break from driving and rest, with not a lot of expectations. However, the property exceeded our expectation. The location was great, clam and by the river. Evening walk by the river was a pure bliss. We would definitely stay again if passing by.Guest review bySanjay KumarPoland
- From $147.63 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,047 reviewsNice place to stay with good breakfast and free parking. Adjacent to the train station so there are several trains passing throughout the night. Some of the rooms are more susceptible to the noise due to their location.Guest review byStephenUnited States

I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold.
I stopped in Oppdal by train from Kongsvold. I was on my way to Trondheim doing the pilgrimage of St. Olav's Way. Oppdal is this small town that has a lot of charm. I was able to walk around town for a little bit. There are sidewalks throughout town that allow you to get all over the place. Transportation - There is a train that can take you north to Trondheim. There's also a bus if you need to go to Berkåk. This makes it easy to get around. There's even a taxi service by the name of Trønder Taxi AS that you can use to get around. Warning - taxis are pretty pricey in Norway and I would recommend using public transportation if you can. Download Vy app to check times and buy any tickets you may need. I ended up eating at Burger King in Oppdal(I know, very American of me). I wanted to have something quick to eat. I will say this, fast food chains are more expensive than local restaurants.Guest review by#soarindisneyUnited States - 10.0
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords...
Dombas is an excellent stopover coming back from the fjords to Oslo. I stayed at the campsite located on top of the village which offers nice cottages and views of the surrounding mountains. The area offers plenty of hiking trails and 5-6 hours moose and muskOx safaris not far from Dombas starting at 10am. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do the safari since I stayed just for the night and left in the morning. All amenities are located in one spot at the Dombas Senter which includes petrol & many fast charging stations, cafeterias, a couple of restaurants, supermarkets and a huge souvenir shop all at reasonable prices. We ate at Moskusgrillen located on the opposite side. The restaurant offers some traditional food, meats, juicy burgers and large pizzas. We tried the deer burger, ribs and pizza and were all very good. I will definitely go back.Guest review byCass - 2.0
Here are the bad ones for HYTTE 5:
Here are the bad ones for HYTTE 5: - Entire place was dusty, genuinely dusty. (The rest of the day I had a blocked nose) - All pots, pans, plates, cups and cutlery was smudgy and greasy. - Furnace was greasy. - Shower-head was just utterly disgusting. (see picture) - Shower it self had mouldy places on the bottom of the wall and the shower curtain. (see picture) - One of the mattresses had a pee-stain. (see picture) - One of the beds looked already slept-in, the duvet was folded open in a way that would suggest this. (Obviously couldn't verify this.) - Pillows and duvets had brown stains on them. (see picture) - Windows had smudges all over them. - Cupboard doors were slanting. (see picture) - Dishcloth was gross. (see picture) To sum this all up: First and second impression tells us the place is badly maintained.Guest review byNickNetherlands - 10.0
