- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,257 reviewsThe property is gorgeous, with every nook and cranny oozing with history and character. Driving in was easy, check-in was helpful, showed us all interesting spots to visit on a map and asked to help with our luggage. We took a late lunch at the bistro close to the grounds entry, which was delicious. This is where we tried the house wine for the first time and were pleasantly surprised. We chose the rose garden and the orchard as a place to unwind before dinner. Dinner was sublime and the staff really took the dietary needs of my pregnant wife seriously. Almost every dish was extra tailored specifically for her. Room was lovely and had a very nice welcome gift for my wife’s birthday. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had with very nice choices a la carte and buffet. After checkout we borrowed an umbrella for the sun and went around on a hike that was guided via an app, all was very easy to install and follow. Coming back we also went into the church and learned about the life of St. Gerlac and his journey from a bandit to a saint, not often you hear about such redemption arcs. Back at the hotel the staff went the extra mile to open the bar ahead of schedule to serve us drinks before we set off home.Guest review byAntonBulgaria
- From $106.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,898 reviewsWe recently stayed five nights at Hotel Kaboom in Maastricht. This is my 4th time staying at Kaboom. As always it is an excellent choice for our trip. The hotel’s location couldn’t be more convenient—it’s right across from the train station, with a parking garage just down the street. For coffee lovers, there’s a fantastic coffee shop next door, and the Albert Heijn grocery store in the station is open late, which came in handy. There’s also a Starbucks in the station for a quick pick-me-up. The area is lively, with plenty of stores, restaurants, and cafés within walking distance, making it a great base for exploring the city. Breakfast at the hotel was a typical Dutch spread—simple but satisfying, with fresh bread, cheeses, and more to start your day. Overall, Hotel Kaboom offers a perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and accessibility, making it an ideal choice for a stay in Maastricht. We’d happily stay here again!Guest review byChantalleUnited States
- From $116.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,307 reviewsThe location was amazing and magical. Beautiful grounds to walk and explore. A lovely walkway from the property to a very inexpensive fully electric bus system that drives into Maastricht. A train option is located there as well. Very easy to use and we appreciated that we could use this instead of driving into the city center. The staff that manages check-in and check-out, the bar, restaurant and breakfast area were all very kind and helpful. I highly recommend booking a table for dinner, as well as setting up the breakfast option during your stay. You will not be disappointed. We also loved that this was a dog friendly property. We loved all the green spaces and the quiet away from the city. Our next trip back to Europe we will stay here again 100%.Guest review byShannonBelgium
- From $123.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,496 reviewsComfortable rooms, staff available 100percent of the time, able to write through whatsapp to ask things and got replies immediately... there are croissants in the morning for hungry newcomers, and there is complementary wine every day between 5 and 6, I never saw this anywhere before. The location is just perfect, literally 30sec walking from Market Square with many lovely bars/cafes as well as changing market activities throughout the week.. I had an excellent stay here. Rooms were very clean and well kept, too.Guest review byipekTurkey
- From $173.09 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,279 reviewsThe staff was very friendly, the facilities were pristine, the room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The sauna was well worth the price of admission and so was the breakfast: plenty of fresh, tasty options to choose from. Definitely if ever presented with the opportunity, I would book a stay in this hotel again.Guest review byinterim_handleLatvia

We took a walk from the hotel over the bridge.
We took a walk from the hotel over the bridge. We sat on the terrace of the café Vogel Struys, which is the oldest café of Maastricht and visited the St Servaes church which is across the Vrijthof. Afterwards we went back to the hotel until it was time for supper. We had supper at the restaurant Comedie. This was good, but expensive. The next morning we walked to the Bonnefanten museum, which is situated near the river Maas. This is a beautiful museum, with lost of interesting expositions. We had lunch at the museum restaurant.Guest review byYvonneNetherlands - 10.0

Apart from the market there is not much to do in Sittard.
Apart from the market there is not much to do in Sittard. Shopping is the usual, but the street is long and there is no ambiance. Main time to visit Sittard is during festivals (Carnival, St Joep and Octoberfest).Guest review bychrisNetherlands - 8.0
A tidy and relaxed town.
A tidy and relaxed town. We liked the mining museum, which was unpretentious but well-presented and very-well explained in English/German/Dutch by a local guy with connections to the industry. The other big draw is the Roman baths (extensive unearthed foundations of the whole complex, nicely presented inside a large modern warehouse structure). Rail station is not far from Tulip hotel and is well-served to Aachen and Maastricht.Guest review byAdrian - 8.0

Kerkrade is a very nice town in the south of the Netherlands. We visited nearby places like Heerlen and Vaals and we visited the Botanic Garden in Kerkrade. Of course we needed to buy the local cake: Vlaai. Especially the Cherry Vlaai was superb!Guest review byCoenNetherlands - 10.0
Our accommodation was very clean and spacious.
Our accommodation was very clean and spacious. Bungalows were pretty new. Good location for cycling trips, walking. Small footbal/basketball pitch. Large swimming pool, unfortunately not heated. Water was clean and warm enough for swimming, but too cold for chilling out with the kids. I will come back there. Great discovery on my list of weekend stay places.Guest review byTomaszNetherlands - 4.0

Very difficult to find how to access the entrance to the hotel …. Needs to be better signposted even trying to gain entry to the hotel was difficult. Saw a barrier that was closed and didn’t know how we were supposed to get past it …reversed back and drove around probably the wrong way to get into the car parking area . Disabled parking was not clearly marked….it must have taken a total of 30 minutes to sort out where and what we needed to do to enter the hotel . What a shame for our first impressions, but the disappointment just grew due to other aspects of our stay .cold , poor menu’s lacking in comfort all round .Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Small town with authentic historical inner city and plenty of good restaurants and bars; great for a weekend trip to shop, eat and relax. Also a great place to use as a starting point to explore the area by bike or car as its located in between belgium and germany - and a gateway to the south of limburg.Guest review byLilianNetherlands
