Room was immaculate, recent construction, top-quality bathroom, washer, stove, really everything you could ask for. Plus a beach just steps outside the back door. Check-in was automated but went smoothly using the QR code I received via email.

I enjoyed everything. The staff was super kind and helpful. The location is beautiful, it's very close to Benesse art site and there is even a shuttle that goes to each location. 🥢 There is a restaurant nearby that has delicious foods with reasonable prices. It may not be open all the time but do not miss it if you see it open!! 🌸 In general, it was calm and serene. I had one of the best days of my trip.

Very efficient and high-tech capsule dorm room with many bunk beds. I thought it would be hard to sleep since dozens of people share the space but not at all! It was absolutely quiet at night. This property is truly a gem. While I can comment only on the room we stayed in, room 503 which was a Japanese style room, I would rate it as a 10/10. The staff are all lovely. Every single staff member that crossed our path was very helpful, polite and friendly. Our room had a gorgeous 180 degree view over Kotohira. The sound of the river below was so nice. If I was to stay again, I would stay in a western style room simply because I found it difficult to get off the floor. I peeked in room 302 on my way out and think any western room on that side of that building with that view, could not be beat. We did not have our dinners at the hotel but did have breakfast every day for the four days we were there. The amount of food is enough to set you for the entire day. I enjoyed a vegetarian western breakfast while my husband enjoyed the Japanese breakfast. The food is delicious, the presentation is beautifully done and the service is exceptional. Such a hard working team. The staff were happy to take us to the train station whoever we wanted to go on a day trip. A day trip to the Iya valley and one to the Ritsurin gardens should not be missed.

We enjoyed our one-night stay a lot! Free parking, very close and walking distance to the Kotohiragu area. The room itself was very spacious for 2 people. The onsen was also very nice, there were multiple hot tubs (including jet/jacuzzi ones) indoors and outdoors, and they switch the onsen between male and female overnight. There's also restaurants within the hotel itself. The deco of the hotel along the main walkway and the reception was quite traditional and was nice to appreciate.

Hotel is close to the theme park as it is the only hotel associated with the theme park. BUT the hotel and theme park is quite far from the train station. There is a free bus shuttle but runs infrequently. We ended up taking taxis to the facility . The hotel is huge and it had lots of things that could accommodate the large crowd: Pool and game rooms for children, large onsen baths, large self serve restaurant, and a big store for shopping.

The island has some of the best art museums I've visited, not in the amount of art pieces, but the flow, quality and architectural side of them. It is very much needed to book everything in advance, especially the more popular museums and electric bicycles, it is most definitely worth to move around the island like that.

Transport wasn't ideal at this time of year but if you timed the buses right you could see a lot of Shodoshima island in a few days. It was great being surrounded by olive and orange groves. It had a very Mediterranean feel to it. From my resort I only had to cross the road to Olive Park and it's many attractions. A lovely coffee shop, aptly called Dilly Dally, was only a few doors away. I visited the site of the movie "24 eyes", Angel Road, Olive Park and strolled along various beaches. A lovely place to wind down after Tokyo. I mainly cooked for myself but found a coffee shop that did lovely gluten free muffins near Angel Road.

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan.

Takamatsu is a regional town on Shikoku Island in Japan. It is quite relaxed and has everything that you may look for in big cities. Shikoku Island is one of the main 4 Islands of Japan. It is good to reach by train, bus and even by airplane. It has an old history and boasts of many traditional handicrafts, regional specialties (such as udon noodles), etc. Always worth a visit - even if it is in the rainy season.

Beautiful Serene Please take good care of your beauty Don't make too many new modern buildings that cannot emerge ór blend to the nature or to the local traditional culture. Preserve your traditional village, preserve your traditional culture and be proud of them by showing them in your daily businesses. The most important thing is please take good care of your nature environment.
