- From US$699.24 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 261 reviewsThe hosts were accessible and helpful. They drove us from and to the port on our arrival and departure. The location is not in the town center, but still in the walking distance. At least for us this was not a problem. Villa Crimi is located near the road leading from the town center and both famous beaches to Vulcanello side of the island, amongst lush mediterranean greenery. We could really appreciate this since the kitchenette and dining table are located on the roofed terrace and we ate our meals outside. I noticed all rooms have plenty of shade on the terraces. We were there in May so this was not crucial but I imagine it is very important in summer. The interior of the room was nothing special, but we spent most of our time outdoors so this was not important for us. We also liked the sun terrace on the roof which is accessible to all guests, and I have to add that all 8 rooms are nicely separated even though they are all in one villa.Guest review byZigaSlovenia
- From US$81.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 452 reviewsThe hotel where we were greeted by a smiling Mr. Mirella and a kind Mr. Lorenzo is located right in front of the harbor where we can see the ships heading to the Aeolian Islands. It's lively during the day and has a travel atmosphere at night. Although the terrace is shared, it is very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast served at the cafe below is simple but delicious. Currently, you can't go into the mud hot springs, but there were a lot of people there, so I went in. There are hot springs, the ocean, and a rocky mountain that you can climb that resembles a volcano, making it a convenient and fun place rich in nature. There is also a supermarket nearby. Lipari Island seems to be popular, but I love this island! I stayed in 14 places on my first trip to Sicily and Vulcano was really good.Guest review byYukoJapan
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 344 reviewsThe staff was very welcoming and we felt taken care of. Hotel is very nice, with beautiful interior in traditional style and terraces, it's very calm and you can really enjoy nature. Breakfast was delicious, with a big choice of local products. It is situated perfectly for exploring the island, between two best beaches, and there is a private entrance to one of them. The staff was helping us with everything and even came to meet us at the port when we arrived. The nature around is beautiful, and restaurants are nearby. We definitely can recommend this place!Guest review byYuliaNorway
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 223 reviewsBecause of a "plumbing issue" we were rebooked to "Mari del Sud" Resort. From the outside it looked like the neighbouring Hotel Garden has shut down forever. So we got a free Upgrade, thank you for that. Special thanks to the extremely lovely and helpful staff at Mari del Sud, who made us enjoy our stay even more: Valentina, another young gentlemen whose name i didnt catch unfortunately but who was very helpful arranging a boattour and Ygoro.Guest review byStefanAustria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 107 reviewsWe were very surprised by the quality of the furnishings, particularly the bathroom, which was brand-new and comfortable. Allhough we chose the smallest room, it was big enough to fit three people comfortably. The balcony was great for an evening chill. After seing the rest of the harbour area we agreed that the location couldn't be better. The owner responded flexibly and was very helpful with storing the luggage before the check-in.Guest review byJoannaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 443 reviewsPosition (close to ferry, beaches and attractions, but far from noisy harbour), lovely hosts, things to do, cruisers, cleanness, pure traditional Eolian/Sicilian atmosphere, incredible sight at the Vulcano 🌋 …literally, having breakfast on a terrace before the volcanoGuest review byMirkoItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 386 reviewsExcellent location: on the way to the crater and far away from the mud baths (so no unpleasant smell). Very clean place. WiFi and airco worked perfectly. Mini fridge available in the room. Very nice and welcoming host. Would definitely recommend!Guest review byRADABelgium

We found the nicest hotel; Sables Noir; they had a spa and a private beach. We hired Bicycles from the Hotel (better than the hire companies), by the hour or half day or whole day and the Hotel staff were all, from top to bottom, an amazing, cohesive and energetic team ; (even though it was end of season.) Volcano is beautiful but very small so shorter stays and/ or home cooking is recommended as the choice of GOOD restaurants is limited. We took a private boat to Lipari for the evening, which was fabulous and something different.Guest review byLucyUnited Kingdom - 10
Incredible wee island.
Incredible wee island. Loved that you could cycle everywhere easily, there were lots of mini adventures to be had e.g. Vulcanello crater, snokelling, Monte Saraceno, Capo Grillo viewpoint & of course the Vulcano crater hike. Lots of great places to eat, cute, off the beaten track feel. We loved how quiet everywhere was in October.Guest review bykatherineUnited Kingdom - 10
I love Volcano.
I love Volcano. The relaxed, laid-back atmosphere has brought me back half a dozen times and it never fails to delight. Sadly Maurizio's restaurant is no longer in operation but there are still some other places to eat that don't disappoint. Walking up the volcano is always fun, though they have restricted access to the zone of the fumaroles now, and the mud-pools have been closed completely. I was told this is because they have got too hot. We also went to visit the cat colony who are situated on Vulcanello, and was pleased to see that they have been moved to more comfortable quarters. Swimming in the sea - especially where it's sprinkled with hot bubbles - is always a delight. The Spiaggia Nera (black-sand beach) has not hot bubbles but is really pleasant. My only gripe with Vulcano (and the whole of Sicily) is that there is too much litter everywhere. It could really do with a good clean-up. The friendly, relaxed people go a long way towards making up for it ... maybe if they weren't so relaxed they would organise some clean-ups!Guest review byWendy TeasdillUnited Kingdom
