- From US$206.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 419 reviewsWe really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Miramare and Spa. When searching for a , I had been attracted to the hotel by the photos of the Bay of Silence location of the hotel. It was even better in real life! A really beautiful and peaceful location as we were travelling during the non peak time of March. The bedroom we were allocated was lovely and spacious as we were upgraded on arrival to the Junior Suite with Seaview and balcony, room 210. The bed was SO comfortable and the room was very quiet. Sitting on the balcony at different times of the day was bliss! As we had requested a twin room, they made up the sofa bed into another bed for us, which was also very comfortable to sleep in. The suite was very clean and every little extra touch was provided. I loved the huge fluffy dressing gowns especially! The bathroom had a wonderful jacuzzi bath as well as a separate shower. I loved the range of toiletries provided, the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner smelt and felt lovely. The breakfast room overlooking the sea was beautiful, such a pleasure to eat our breakfast overlooking the calm bay. It had lots of choice. We chose the ham and cheese omelette on the first morning which was delicious, so much so that we ordered another one on the following day! The pastries were displayed in a pretty way, like they do for an afternoon tea in England on a stand on each table. We didn’t manage to eat at the restaurant as it wasn’t open when we were there but there was plenty of choice in the town of Sestri Levante itself. We thought that the old town of Sestri Levante was delightful. We found it a great base for taking the train to see the Cinque Terre which was the main objective of our trip and we are so glad that we chose to stay outside in such a lovely resort. It was an easy direct connection to the Cinque Terre stations.Guest review byRosUnited Kingdom
- From US$405.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 173 reviewsWhat an exceptional hotel! The staff were the kindest most generous people, who went out of their way to accommodate us, including arranging an express laundry service (back the same day, perfectly folded!), a service car to drop us at the train station from the hotel (and also offered us pick up from the station upon our arrival), bringing warmed milk to our room for a cup of tea, and had endless local tips on restaurants, the best way to get to the Cinque Terre and best kept secrets to see. The hotel itself was immaculate, clean, and quite, with an astounding rooftop sun deck and bar. The staff gave us the best room in the hotel, which was an apparent free upgrade, the top middle room with a double balcony. We couldn’t imagine a better stay, we just wished we booked for longer. Thank you to the beautiful team, Rodolfo our delightful waiter with his Australian stories, and Joel our lovely host. Thank you!Guest review byCarlyAustralia
- From US$371.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,282 reviewsElegant little hotel located in a very privileged position, full of the beautiful old-style charm. Though it is “piccolo “ indeed, there is everything one may wish for a superb vacation in the luxurious and scenic Portofino - elegant sea view rooms with terraces fool of flowers with the comfortable sitting furniture, very private beach in the breathtaking views, a cute beach cafe serving drinks and light meals and an elegant restaurant on the terrace overlooking the sea and the rocks to enjoy the dinner at the sunset… Every member of the staff, starting from the employee who was meeting us at the private hotel parking and helped with the luggage, very kind front desk manager, always smiling maids and the restaurant personnel- they all made their very best to make our stay just fabulous, like a dream… Can’t wait to be back!Guest review byNatalijaLithuania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsWe had an great time there, even with the bad weather. Rooms are large (at least the one we've had), modern and very well cleaned. It's very well placed, not too far from Portofino, and with a little effort (and a car) even the Cinque Terre can be visited from this base. Both restaurants are very good quality, we've had dinner in both of them. Breakfast is not buffet, so it's difficult to compare it with other 5 star hotels, but it's good enough.Guest review byDanRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 829 reviewsThe location is excellent, in front of the beach and in the center of the pedestrian area of lovely Sestri Levante. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Despite its central location the hotel is very calm, it has a lovely parc and swimming pool area. Fresh, good quality of products and variety at the buffet breakfast. The premises are lovely.Guest review byMarcellaSwitzerland

The city center is nice, there are good restaurants but every of them takes fee for sitting at the table - from 2 to 4 euros even to drink one cocktail. Beaches are not very good in Rapallo, you need to go somewhere further for good sea. We went on the beaches after San-Margarita, it is better drive there or go by bus.Guest review byElena - 8.0
Nice town with much to do in town and nearby.
Nice town with much to do in town and nearby. Go to Rapallo by train and take the aerial tram to see the church and eat at the restaurant with the most beautiful terrace about 200 yards through the trees on a path of enlightenment. Go have a drink by the castle for a lively scene and view.Guest review byCurtisUnited States - 10.0

Sestri Levante is a medium sized town with two beautiful beaches facing in opposite directions so you can see both the sunrise and sunset. When you get tired of the beach, you can do easy day trips to Cinque Terre, Portofino, Genoa, and other Ligurian towns.Guest review byMarionUnited States - 6.0
Weird place.
Weird place. One side is terribly middle class, in the worst way. Another side, near the bocciofila, is old school lovely. The center is pretty dead - a few restaurants, but that's all. The sea is lively with waves and currents.Guest review byValentinaItaly - 10.0
There are so many places to eat!
There are so many places to eat! The food is excellent pretty much everywhere. The focaccia si to die for and so is the farinata! When visiting Lavagna you can forget about the car and if you wish to visit 5 terre the train is very convenient! Smoking should be banned in all beaches, though!Guest review byFrancescaGermany - 10.0

We loved Portofino!! We wish we had a few more days to do more of the local hikes and venture out on a boat but honestly it was our favourite spot in Italy and easy to get to via bus!! You can wonder around the streets or hop on the bus to other spots!! The views from the castle were AMAZING!!Guest review byTamzin HallNew Zealand - 8.0

Difficult access over a tight old bridge & steep, narrow access road which might put some people off. Also lots of steep steps from car park up to the Villa, some of which needed repair. Nice small seaside area which a few good restaurants & promenade.Guest review byGeoffreyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A nice size town. Easy access from the train station into town. Excellent coastal walk around to Portifino. Best place to swim Santa Margherita Ligure. A short walk from Rapallo. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.Guest review byMonicaAustralia - 10.0
Lovely sea side town. Very good ferry link for Portofino.
Lovely sea side town. Very good ferry link for Portofino. Nice shops and good restaurants and are more reasonably priced than Portofino yet only takes 15 mins to travel there by boat. We went end of season in late September and there were a lot of locals swimming and enjoying the sea. I didn't get chance to walk between the 2 resorts but it looked flat and easy. Highly recommend a visit on the ferry to Santa Fruttuoso - stunning. can get busy when a big cruise ship arrives in town. The harbour is interesting and lots to see and people watch. some of the yachts are impressive!Guest review byRachaelUnited Kingdom
