Catherine the owner was absolutely fantastic. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for her or her amazing staff. Food was superb and breakfast was available any time you wanted it. Breakfast was also exceptionally good. Our room was stunning with everything we could possibly need. We will definitely return if we are in Bali. I have never seen my wife so emotional to leave anywhere before. Truly magical place and so relaxing. Thank you again Catherine

The best hotel I have ever stayed at in all of Asia, and I've spent almost a year in Asia, lifetime. The staff was gracious & hospitable. The room was phenomenal, spacious, featuring great wifi, and a stunning bathroom with indoor + outdoor shower, as well as a bath. The views were second to none. The breakfast was soo good, especially the teas, and smoothies. Gives me chills thinking about this place. Cant wait to go back in December/January.

Fantastic Place to stay On arrival we were surprised by the gorgeous and well maintained garden at Sukun Babonsay Villas. Our Villa (10) was in excellent condition and exceptionally clean. The staff came every day to clean our place, exchanging towels and so on. The gardener was there every morning to maintain garden and pool. Everything is very well kept.     1.) set-up We stayed at Hidden Paradise for 6 days with our two kids (9 & 10), in one of the bigger family bungalows that sleep 4 people. This was a smart choice, as those seem to be closest to beach & pool and farthest from the road. The bungalow itself was stunning. Furniture is not the newest, but still very nice. Layout with huge, half-open bathroom (like… really huge, it felt like a second living room, which is great when cleaning, drying, lotioning and bug-spaying those moving targets that are our kids) and an ample front-terrace (view towards the lush tropical garden, pool and, beyond, the sea). A fantastic view to wake up to! 2.) beach We loved the beach with its house-reef, as it is „walk-in snorkeling“ (turtle, starfish, corals, plenty of fish in front of your nose, no need to take a boat). Our 9-year-old doesn’t feel comfortable yet in deep water where her feet can’t touch the ground. Even she could do a little „safe“ snorkeling alongside the shore. The beach itself has smooth black volcano sand. Nice for a walk. It is a „living“ fishing beach, with local fishermen taking out their boat at night, returning in the morning. They can take you out for a sunrise cruise / snorkeling spots a bit further out or in Jemeluk for a relatively small price. Just ask around. 3.) pool & garden The pool was also really nice, good temperature and perfectly set underneath huge frangipani trees that give you shade from the rough heat. As the resort is one of the first built at Lipah Beach, they let enough space between the bungalows. It never feels crowded and the lush garden made us wanna hang out there all day. They seem to have maneuvered through Covid rather well. You can see that they are investing again into maintenance. They have new daybeds at beach and pool. They are working on renovating a on-site gift shop. Smaller neglected spots are being handled one after the other. Good to see that they take care of things! 4.

    My stay was fantastic! The room was beautiful, very spacious, with a huge window offering the most amazing view! Every morning, I would wake up and swim in the pool while enjoying the lush greenery all around. The room was incredibly well-equipped with water, a fridge, a kettle for tea or coffee, shampoo, body lotion, and more. The staff was discreet, always smiling, and eager to help. There were plenty of breakfast options, and everything was delicious. I will definitely stay at the same hotel again the next time I visit Sidemen.

    Everything. The place is like heaven on earth. The garden with its 100 species of plants is amazing. The silence, the piece, the colorful flowers.. The staff is super nice,the spa and massages amazing. We also took the complimentary trekking which I strongly recomand as the guide brings you to the foundation near by, and the house of the ibu founder, explains you a lot about the Balinese culture and about all the flowers, plants and agricultural Balinese method.

    This has been my second home for 18 years. Everyone at Blue Moon are incredible and go above and beyond for their guests. Anything you need, they can arrange for you - whether it be Laundry, massages or scooter hire. Cannot recommend this enough - the views alone should be enough, but if that isn’t, the ambience and the staff are another fantastic reason.

    Lovely breakfast by the beach in the hotel restaurant. The reef is intact with beautiful corals and fish and I it was a short swim from the beach to see them. There are boat rides to farther reefs, cars to sunset viewing and visits to holy sites, temples and waterfalls. This was a small, very peaceful and well maintained property.

    Loved Amed but was only there for 2 nights, would definately go back for longer. Beautiful people and amazing local food. Great spot if you dont want the hussle and bussle of Kuta/Seminyak or Legian. The black beach was gorgeous and the sunsets were amazing, Great place for divers/snorkelling and fishing.

    We only stayed a late afternoon and night while making our way to the North of Bali. There are a few tours that you can do, and I plan on coming back next year for 3 nights instead. It’s the perfect place to unplug and get away from buzz of city life whether it’s in the south or back home in a large city.

    Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old.

    Padangbai took me back in time to the Bali of old. Its quite rustic and primitive looking in parts. Most of the restaurants are quite old. We only ate at our hotel OK Divers Resort, where the restaurant and food was very good. NIce place to visit but only a couple of days at most.

    I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

    A perfect place to dive and learn diving Tulamben is a peaceful little town and an amazing spot for both scuba diving and freediving. The water is calm, visibility is great, and marine life is rich, from colourful coral to bumphead parrotfish. The famous USAT Liberty wreck is a must-see, accessible right from shore. It’s also a great place to learn diving – many friendly, professional instructors and dive centres around. Whether you're a beginner or ean xperienced diver, you'll love it here. Highly recommended for ocean lovers!

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

    Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples. The place will be very nice if the owner take time to make it clean like clean sheets, new mattress with on bed bugs. The bathroom and toilets spruced up. Nothing much to see there except to surf and relax.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

    Amed was lovely, found some great eating places that were really reasonable. Gusto, Galangal, Warranga Amed with live music and fabulous hosts, Sunset view restaurant )the lower key more traditional one) the other Sunset view was too upmarket and commercialised. We loved riding around on the scooters and felt it was quiet enough to feel safe. Really enjoyed getting up into the hills from there to see the rural lifestyles.
