Our stay at Kastara Resort was absolutely fantastic—truly a memorable experience from start to finish. Although we didn’t have the chance to try the spa (we were always out exploring!), we are confident it would have been amazing based on the quality of everything else. The service was exceptional—every staff member we encountered was kind, attentive, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Their hospitality made us feel so welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. We stayed in one of the suites with an outdoor hot tub, and it was absolutely incredible. Soaking in the hot tub while enjoying the stunning views of the jungle was like a dream come true. The infinity pool was equally breathtaking—a perfect spot to relax and take in the serene surroundings. The cleanliness of the resort was unmatched; everything was spotless, and we’ve honestly never experienced such meticulous attention to detail in a property. The food was another highlight of our stay. Every meal we had at the resort was excellent, and we loved that we didn’t need to go anywhere else to enjoy high-quality dining. The live music in the evenings added such a lovely atmosphere to our dining experiences. It’s rare to find a place where everything exceeds expectations, but Kastara Resort truly deserves its 5-star rating and more. In terms of location, it couldn’t have been better. The resort is a peaceful haven away from the chaotic center of Ubud, yet still close enough to explore. It’s about a 35-minute walk to the center, which was perfect for us as we could avoid the traffic while enjoying the serenity of the surrounding jungle. It also served as the perfect base for exploring Ubud and its beautiful surroundings. Without a doubt, Kastara Resort is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. Lovely property at a very central and convenient location. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous and genuine make an effort to ensure the guests is at utmost comfort.     Everything was wonderful. The staff are so attentive and observant, they anticipate your every need even before making eye contact. We felt extremely pampered by all the staff, and the food was amazing from breakfast to dinner. Their afternoon tea service is also great, with a buffet of desserts and any hot drink you'd like. We were very well taken care of. And the location, wow, it's a beautiful place in the jungle, with lush green views. We even had some monkeys visit our balcony in the morning, which was an amazing experience. But if you're not into that, know what you're singing up for, as the property is in a jungle. If you're looking to experience some of the best service of your life, in a gorgeous place, with great food, and aren't afraid of some creatures visiting sometimes, this is the place for you.

    Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend Capella it is such a unique place to stay. My tent was amazing fitted with its own plunge pool, copper bath and outdoor shower. The attention to detail in this place is outstanding. Every single one of the staff is so friendly and welcoming and goes above and beyond for you. The food is very delicious, I could not fault anything. Make sure not to miss the complimentary afternoon tea and cocktails in the evening each day. Thank you to all at Capella for a lovely stay.

    I have only the good things to talk about Kayon Jungle resort. The staff were very friendly, they helped us out of the car with umbrella and everything. We had to leave for tour so we left bags with no issues. Tour reception Sang was very welcoming and informative. She’s very good and speaks well too. I also used the spa Suraya spa facility, it was worth it, the Jaccuzi, Sauna, steam, full body massage.

    Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. Taxi journey to and from the airport took two and a half hours through stop-start heavy traffic and a million scooters.

    It's a lovely area much quieter than Ubud but still lots of cafes etc. The Instagrammers taking selfies is a bit over the top...but they're everywhere. Great views of the rice terraces and beautiful waterfalls and temples in the area.

    The beautiful areas of Sukawati require a car/driver. We went to the art market which was nice, but you could get this art anywhere in Bali for the same price. I hadn't been before and wouldn't stay here again, it's a bit 'commercial' and not tailored to tourists. The villas we stayed in were beautiful, quiet and off the main street, but there was nothing to do (other than get a driver).

    Beautiful sea view, near to sanur, denpasar, and ubud, but beach has plastic and wooden trash. During rainy season, moths come out every where outside and inside villa. Kitchen is separate from the villa, overall, villa needs upgrade.

    From the moment I arrived l felt very welcomed by the owners...

    From the moment I arrived l felt very welcomed by the owners & staff who made me feel like part of the family knowing l was travelling alone. My villa had a private garden & verandah with my own pond with fish & a waterfall. Such a peaceful & beautifully spacious room serviced daily. The organic food & drinks were delicious & the house frozen margarita became a daily treat for me. Prices were so inexpensive so l could indulge. The staff are always smiling & laughing as this boutique resort is a place they love to be also . The views are breathtaking & the peace it brought me filled my heart with such joy. I highly recommend this to any traveller .

    The area was too busy for us, maybe because we stayed right...

    The area was too busy for us, maybe because we stayed right in the centre of ubud although it’s very convenient to reach places we want to visit. But people are lovely. A lots of unforgettable cultures performances and events and we felt safe. Our Bali Dinner experience at SUN SUN WAROENG was excellent and would definitely going back to visit again.
