The Hotel staff is simply amazing...very friendly and helpful! :) they are always giving their best to make your stay enjoyable. The room is great with a comfortable bed and overall very clean. We felt like home at Sabana and have been there in January and March. Scooter rental is available for 80k per day and is super uncomplicated - they organize it via a local rental company including helmets. And to all wondering what other guests wrote regarding the pool - they had a problem with it for a few days but solved it already. Water is very clear again and invites for a refreshing swim!

A little oasis in Ubud. Perfectly located so that you can easily walk into the town or to the monkey forest but then retreat from the busy streets. The hotel is immaculate and the staff couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome. The sunrise yoga on Thursday morning was spectacular and we also had a Balinese massage at the spa which I would highly recommend.

We were given a tasty welcome drink during checkin. All meals were extremely delicious and extra care was taken to make them visually appealing. Breakfast exceeded our expectations - we did not expect such a large spread of food. The staff was very friendly and helpful especially Agus whom we met during breakfast - he had such a warm personality. The resort was nestled among nature with amazing fauna and a river within walking distance. A true hidden gem!

A lush, expansive, well-established and breathtakingly gorgeous resort made only more beautiful by their attentive and kind staff. we stayed in the heavenly pool villa and it was easy to just remain holed up in there for days if we could. While we were rather underwhelmed by the breakfast buffet, the inroom bfast we later opted for more than made up for it. The spa is a must try… it was one of the smaller ones we’ve been to but the Jet Lag Recovery treatment we had was truly relaxing and the view from our flower bath overlooking the river below was just incredible. Some special shoutouts are in order: My husband had a shoulder injury while we were on holiday and we were treated with exceptional care by Adi from Mayasari restaurant who helped keep him comfortable with a selfmade icepack over dinner while helping to adjust my husband’s sling several times. Chef Deri was warm, gracious and entertaining during our lovely teppanyaki dinner and we enjoyed his company very much.

The entire trip at The Kayon has been phenomenal, intricate and romantic. An absolute recommend to anyone considering staying at the resort. 1. The breakfast and dining options at in-house Kepitu restaurant was truly splendid and energizing. Options on the menu are diverse, covering both local and international cuisine. Food is scrumptious, beautifully cooked with local flavors and aroma bursting in your mouth 2. The resort is nicely situated on a hilly setting within the heart of Ubud and is half hour drive to the city center 3. Something that differentiates the resort from the rest is the unparalleled service and is top notch. 4. Rooms are spacious and sparkling clean with a large in-villa pool. Staff is very attentive to smallest of details and everything is engineered for pleasure and privacy of the guests

Kamandalu is located just in the forest with a perfect valley-forest view pool rooms and the hotel is divided into so much small parts that they didn't break the 'inside forest' vibe. It is just in the center and believe me if you see 5km on the map and think that what a deal it's just 10 mins, it is not in Bali. It is probably 1 hour with those tiny roads and traffic. So Kamandalu is perfect location. Maybe you are looking for a newer hotel but Kamandalu is old yes but very good. Cause the newest ones don't have such a good location. We enjoyed the room services cause it was a pool villa so we didn't use the restaurants or common pool area that much but being visited by monkeys in the morning by the pool was exceptional. I loved the view of the room and location the best. Spa services was very great also.

Everything was perfect. I would highly recommend Capella it is such a unique place to stay. My tent was amazing fitted with its own plunge pool, copper bath and outdoor shower. The attention to detail in this place is outstanding. Every single one of the staff is so friendly and welcoming and goes above and beyond for you. The food is very delicious, I could not fault anything. Make sure not to miss the complimentary afternoon tea and cocktails in the evening each day. Thank you to all at Capella for a lovely stay.

The best you can stay in Ubud area. The breakfast is excellent and covers all tastes. The staff is polite and willing to serve you. The facilities are around the mountain and the river in the nature. The peaceful Ubud of old has gone, and the artistic centre...

The peaceful Ubud of old has gone, and the artistic centre of Bali, is but a memory!! Regrettably, the Seminyak/Canggu crowd have discovered it, and traffic is terrible, with Jalan Monkey Forest a wall of cars and motorbikes in the evenings. The corner of Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Rays rivals the Ginza in Tokyo for crowds!! The main roads from the south, and to Tegalalang, are frequently car parks, with no movement for extended periods. The early morning market along Jln Raya, opposite the palace, is worth a visit, but it's all gone by about 0900, so be early. Restaurants are plentiful, generally good, although I haven't eaten at them all, and probably the best area for concenrated restaurants, is Jln Goutama, also known as Eat Street. I go there for nostalgic reasons, having first visited in 1979, but nowadays stay only one night enroute north coast to Kuta via Kintamani. I do recommend Fair Warung Bale, #6 Jln Sri Wedari, a five minute walk from the palace, as a place to eat. The food is good, great staff, and the reason for their being is that all profits go to providing medical services to the poor!! I eat there at least once every visit.

Near to Ubud and yet completely out of the city hustle. Stay inside Lots of nature, rain forests and rice fields and see the local countryside with daily ceremonies around the temples and witness bali life.

We attended a wedding at a large resort near by. We were able to walk between the two along the beach or on a path, making it the perfect place to enjoy the wedding and be with friends and have our own quiet villa to enjoy!

It is remote location with not much accessibility to shopping, restaurants, and other activities. Recommended for people who prefer calm and quiet area and has vehicle for commutation. No spas available nearby, need to go to Ubud center.

It's a lovely area much quieter than Ubud but still lots of cafes etc. The Instagrammers taking selfies is a bit over the top...but they're everywhere. Great views of the rice terraces and beautiful waterfalls and temples in the area.

The beautiful areas of Sukawati require a car/driver. We went to the art market which was nice, but you could get this art anywhere in Bali for the same price. I hadn't been before and wouldn't stay here again, it's a bit 'commercial' and not tailored to tourists. The villas we stayed in were beautiful, quiet and off the main street, but there was nothing to do (other than get a driver).

Beautiful sea view, near to sanur, denpasar, and ubud, but beach has plastic and wooden trash. During rainy season, moths come out every where outside and inside villa. Kitchen is separate from the villa, overall, villa needs upgrade.

From the moment I arrived l felt very welcomed by the owners...

From the moment I arrived l felt very welcomed by the owners & staff who made me feel like part of the family knowing l was travelling alone. My villa had a private garden & verandah with my own pond with fish & a waterfall. Such a peaceful & beautifully spacious room serviced daily. The organic food & drinks were delicious & the house frozen margarita became a daily treat for me. Prices were so inexpensive so l could indulge. The staff are always smiling & laughing as this boutique resort is a place they love to be also . The views are breathtaking & the peace it brought me filled my heart with such joy. I highly recommend this to any traveller .

Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road...

Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. Taxi journey to and from the airport took two and a half hours through stop-start heavy traffic and a million scooters.
