Food was great, and the people that are working in the hotel, including the owners were all super kind, really nothing to complain about. The prices were really good, entire Menü with salat, soup, main dish and dessert for 18€( or 13€ if you take vegetarian) was cheaper than in the town's restaurants. Especially since the prices in Croatia exploded last couple of years, here you get great price to performance ratio. Small pebble beach in front of the hotel, with quick access via staircase. Novalja is amazing.
Novalja is amazing. Sure, it’s full of people in the high season since the famous Zrce Beach is nearby, but I’ll definitely come back next year. Not just for the beautiful sea and beaches, but also because we never had a chance to be bored.Guest review byBronaSlovakia - 10

The owner was very kind and accommodating. The location was a peaceful and convenient place to stay. We ate at the public beach area which we walked to in under 10 minutes. Povljana is growing too fast.
Povljana is growing too fast. The rapid construction of unsightly apartment buildings threatens the original charm of this peaceful coastal village and slowly pushes it toward the fate of overcrowded resorts like Makarska. For now, the situation is still bearable – but it feels like a tipping point is approaching. Good: - beautiful beaches in the area - several markets, no need to travel anywhere during the stay - beautiful walking/running trail called 'Life on Mars'. Not good: - near Slana bay there was a concentration camp in the past which is not commemorated in a good way; one have to find the info by their own - I think most of the people are not aware in what kind of area they spend vacation.Guest review byPawełPoland - 10

The location is wonderfully peaceful, yet offers plenty of restaurants, a shop, and everything you might need for a comfortable holiday. The highlight is without a doubt the large pebble beach with its crystal-clear sea – truly exceptional. Šimuni also has a charming harbor with several restaurants, and it even offers the possibility to swim there if the waves at the main beach are too strong. It’s a fairly remote village, but it’s full of life and really gorgeous. There is a little market where you can buy mostly vegetables, some olive oil stands, but the nearest shop is a 20 min drive away. This is a quiet place very good for families with kids. There are not that many restaurants around. There is a bakery and a small grocery shop. Most of the beaches are for the accommodated guests but there is also one large beach Planjka at the entrance to the village. Novalja peaks during summer for the festival season, with Zrce Beach nearby. However, it's a cute small town with its own little charm, I would definitely come at a less busy time (that being said, even during festival season it didn't feel crowded at all), and do some driving to nearby spots on the island. Driving is definitely preferred in Croatia in general (just be aware of limited parking and teeny two way streets), but you can arrive by bus to Novalja too.Guest review byMayaAustralia
