1. The room was larger than I had expected. (I booked a single room). Although the room faced the street, I had no problems sleeping even with the window open. 2. A good breakfast menu offering a choice of dishes, using high quality ingredients. 3. A beer garden - the possibility to sit outside.

Cool mini-hotel in a quiet little town. Clean, nicely decorated rooms. I had all I needed for a 3-week stay. Laura and her team do a great job to make guests feel welcome. The restaurant downstairs serves delicious meals with lots of vegan options, and they also offer the best craft beer I’ve ever tried.

This once industrial city dominated by steel works and traffic when I was a student there in the 1970's has re-invented itself to become a much greener and publicly focussed pollution free city with pedestrian access, incredible water features and landscape schemes to green the city.

Went to watch a show at the Opera House which is a magnificent old building had a meal beforehand then stayed overnight at a local B and B. Town itself has lots of diverse eating and drinking establishments along with a nice park in its centre. Fair few artisan shops as well. Would recommend it for an overnight stay or as a base to explore other areas within the Peak District

Chesterfield is close to lots of other beautiful towns and villages and of course the fantastic scenery. Chesterfield is a large place and for us, we prefer the smaller towns like Bakewell and Matlock, but there is everything you need in Chesterfield and a great place to visit the surrounding areas of the Peak District

We we certainly come again as there is so much to see in the area. We came to Matlock Bath for the last night of the illuminations. The place was very full, and all cafes were full. There is plenty to see and do in the area including the Heights of Abraham, Boating, Cromford, etc. Well worth a visit, but best to have a car.

Tuesday, when we arrived, everything is closed in the evening. We couldn't find a restaurant to eat in, a lot of the pubs were closed early as it was late in the season, the ones open were full. Beautiful place though, loved it. It seemed a very safe place to wander about and everyone was very friendly. My daughter and I looked like the only ones without at least one dog. Try Bakewell pudding.

We soon realised that Castleton was probably the best place to stay in the area. An excellent centre for walking and a bonus was the Tourust information Centre with its cafes. 7 pubs so finding one for a meal was not a problem. We went to one cafe down a side street and ate at t the George further along the same street. Both good. Also the sandwiches etc at the deli in the main street can be highly recommended We aim to return to Castleton. An ideal centre for exploring the Peak Natonal Park.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport. It in a beautiful rural location with fabulous views of green countryside with a charming vista of Manchester in the distance. Yes it was! In my view ! Lol. For us it was a little out of the way mainly because I'm increasingly stressed by driving but in normal circumstances it's nice and quiet. We ate in Glossop at Napolis which was fab last time we went but this time it wasn't great! Had a great ready meal from sainsbury in New Mills! Lots of good walks and paths. Binge Watched Riot women on the big screen! We don't have a TV.
