- From $259.60 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 531 reviewsThis place was exceptional ! Actually had two nights here…. The facilities were world standard I understand this is one of six hotels/ spas in the Lakes owned by one family . Well they know how to deliver a customer focused , high quality service and they make you feel that you are important and valued The staff were clearly happy .. that lets us a lot about the culture here. I would recommend this place Food and restaurants were superb The rooms were quiet , full of all facilities , comfortable and luxury Thankyou for such a wonderful stay Zac and Zoe were wonderful staff . All the others worked hard to make our stay specialGuest review byColinUnited Kingdom

The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, always going out of their way to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which added a magical touch to our visit. Being so close to Keswick made it incredibly convenient for exploring the area, yet the hotel itself felt like a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The combination of excellent service, stunning views, and a prime location made this an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!Guest review byCarolineUnited Kingdom
- From $268.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 542 reviewsFood quality was great. Bit more variety on the evening meals would help for those staying longer than 4 days but that is being picky. Fantastic breakfast - if there is something you want but cannot find on the buffet then ask the chefs - all very helpful. The spa was amazing and great for a rainy day. Location is perfect for walks and local communities. Room was cozy and comfortable. For 6 days we could have done with booking a bigger room - it is worth checking the options for longer stays - but the bed was super comfy and we wish we'd bought the robes.Guest review byArronUnited Arab Emirates

This is a tiny market town (almost a village!) in Cumbria.
This is a tiny market town (almost a village!) in Cumbria. However, it has access to all of the lakes, boat trips, walking everything you need for a trip. There are a million climbing/walking shops in the town centre so if you forget anything it's all there. As for food plenty restaurants and cafes some very pricey others not. There is a Weatherspoons there which was packed morning noon and night for food if you don't want to pay for pricey places. There is a nice selection of bars too most do food and some are really foody places rather than bars. Dogs everywhere so if you are allergic - avoid! There is a wonderful supermarket there - Booths - which has everything you need if you are catering this yourself. Enjoy! If you aren't into climbing/walking then two nights is more than enough for just a relaxing weekend away.Guest review byNETripsUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Carlisle, making it easy to explore the town centre. There was plenty to see, both in terms of history; castle, cathedral, and ancient Roman structures also the many social attractions.Guest review byRonUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The area was mostly fine.
The area was mostly fine. In some areas the town was looking tired. Absence of any visible street cleaning. We must have passed an area where someone had let their dog foul the pavement at least eight times as we walked up and down to our guest house and back down towards the lake I know it’s individual dog owners where the responsibility lies but even so it’s a big tourist area So one would expect a bit more pride in the area Unfortunately we won’t be rushing back to visitGuest review byAnonymous - 10

Bowness is a very compact, beautiful, scenic place. It is easy to walk around the town & walks around parts of the lake very accessible. Great boat trips available of varying lengths. Easy to get to other towns & villages by car or bus. Masses of eating places for a variety of tastes. Lovely area to view in any kind of weather.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 10

Penrith is a great place to either explore itself, or as a base for the rest of the lake district. Public transport is easy and accessible. There are lots of traditional shops and plenty of places to eat or drink.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Grasmere is a lovely little village with lots of character and quaint local shops. If you are in to jigsaws it's the place to go! The jigsaw shop is an experience not to be missed. There is a wide choice of eating options and the food was consistently good wherever we ate. We particularly enjoyed the pub food options.Guest review byScottUnited Kingdom - 8.0

I go there to meet up with old school friends so I know the area and where to visit. Furness Abbey, Dock Museum and Walney Island Nature Reserve are well worth visiting. Ulverston is a lovely small town and not far away.Guest review byValerieUnited Kingdom - 10
