The bus service throughout the island is excellent and St Helier is a thriving town with a good variety of shops and restaurants etc. All the people I met throughout my stay were tremendously helpful and obviously really enjoy working there. Gorey and the east coast are the nicest parts - not to be missed!Guest review byGeraldUnited Kingdom - 8.0
An interesting capital of a small island.
An interesting capital of a small island. The land rises steeply from the harbour. A useful selection of shops which are on mainly level ground. Excellent bus services across the Island for £1.60 per journey or buy a card for £4 (covers more than one person) and tickets then cost £1.15 per person. Buses stop about 8pm so need a taxi to return to your out of town hotel. Sea trips to Herm, Sark or Jersey from the harbourGuest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays.
It’s a great place for families who love beach holidays. It’s also great for those interested in history with all the occupation places to visit. There are plenty of good places to eat. We when to Crabby Jacks which has a varied menu. The local kiosks are also great places for a snack. It’s easy to get around either by car or public transport which is very regular. Lots of people came with bikes.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
What a lovely place to visit and stay!
What a lovely place to visit and stay! Lovely beachfront promenade which was both walking and cycling friendly. Wonderful cafes/restaurants along the walkway, which caters for different food choices.Guest review byKimUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lots of different eateries .
Lots of different eateries . We enjoyed food at The Salty Dog and also from The old Court House. Both restaurants were good value. There is another place The Boathouse and Anchor which is on the harbour. If you want a loud bustling atmosphere stay downstairs, For a pure dining experience go upstairs. The harbour itself is full of boats and quite pretty. Walking is for the most part on the flat. The boardwalk along the beach is pretty but watch out for bikes.Guest review byAnnabelleGUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Good location for visiting the Island.
Good location for visiting the Island. Able to walk to Fermain Bay from here and then round the Bay to St Peter Port. A few handy shops too and a Methodist Church. Fermain Bay hotel is a great location for eating or just having coffee if you can’t make it down the hill to the Fermain Bay cafe.Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The area of St Clements is lovely, great sandy beaches with free parking and clean public conveniences, and a few lovely pubs to eat at. Small supermarkets (Morrisons and Co-op) are also around and are open late. Easy access to the rest of the island without going through St Helier, if driving, and frequent buses to St Helier or Grouville.Guest review byVannnieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Like the quietness of the Vale, away from the town centre, tucked away at the end of the island. I love the location of the peninsula hotel facing the ocean, the sun rise is amazing in the early hours of the morning all golden really beautiful. Going to the town centre you need a bus , it runs hourly week day and 2hourly week end. Taxis are hard to come bye and expensive, book with the hotel 24rs pre. The food in the hotel is nice but a bit pricey you don't really have much choice no nearby restaurants.Guest review bybassey-williams - 10.0

Very attractive small town with excellent views across the bay to Hern and Sark islands. Plenty to do around Guernsey from cliff walks, beautiful beaches, several occupation museums as well as good restaurants and pubs. Great for a short breakGuest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We had the castle behind us and the harbour in front of us which we were able to see from our room. The castle was worth a visit and the harbour and sea coming in and out was pleasant to view with a glass in your hand. Easy access to all over the island,we like history so were able to see the war tunnels and museum. I think we were staying in the right place, away from the hustle and bustle of the capital and other busy places.Guest review bySheilaUnited Kingdom
