Our room was amazing with a huge balcony an sun loungers overlooking the pool with an amazing view of Hondarriba in the distance. The beds were comfortable and the room had everything we needed. We did not eat in the hotel as we decided to get a water taxi for €2.30 each across to Hondarriba which was buzzing with atmosphere and plenty of gastronomical delights to choose from. We really enjoyed the Thalassotherapy pool which was included in our room price. This was amazing. Unfortunately we didn’t have as long as we wanted here as the hotel receptionist on the morning of departure could strangely only organise our taxi for a certain early time although we requested it after check our time so we could fully avail of the Thalassotherapy pool. We thought that she could have been a bit more helpful as the staff on the previous day were extremely nice and understanding and helpful. The hotel breakfast buffet breakfast was quite pricey for us, even the cheaper option of the coffee/croissant was €8 but there are plenty of cafes nearby to choose from. This city has so much to offer. It is a very walkable city, but also has great public transport. The landmarks and attractions are easy to access, and are all in relatively close proximity so you can plan a full day of excursions. Market was incredible on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hard to get around without a car. We took several small tours with Ophorus and that great. Rented a car one day and would have liked to have it more. We enjoyed walking on the beach, strolling round the interesting streets in town, eating at the restaurants and taking the boat across to Cap du Ferrett. It is a clean, well looked after town with a buzz to it. The gardens are well worth a stroll with a climb up the Belvedere tower for a view. At the Cap du Ferrett we walked along the beach to the oyster shacks and had a delicious feast of oysters and prawns. Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a very pleasant little town on the South-west coast of France. Its beach is nicely sheltered from the wild Bay of Biscay, making it safe and attractive. We stayed in a central hotel with easy access to some lovely bars and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. It's an easy drive into the countryside; we climbed a mountain called Larrun, part of the Pyrenees, then easily back to St Jean de Luz for a swim and out for dinner!
