The receptionists were very nice and helpful, with a good vibe between them and good manners. All of them understood many languages and were patient too. The staff at the night bar were cheerful and attentive, (though busy with many orders), yet still functioned gracefully and patiently. The staff at the restaurant were fast and kind , and allthough very busy throughout all day, still let us eat 30 minutes over th the closing time the The art in the hotel is absolutely fantastic! You are greeted inside with a beautiful carved olive tree, an abstract insane statue ! The place feels authentically designed for families , old-school style, with beautiful paintings along the hallways everywhere. The paintings are also enforced with high resolution prints of photos from Costa brava beaches.. which later on you explore nearby. And other cool stuff. It feels like a really nice art gallery hotel, with a wide and spiral stairway. I thought the architect of this building designed it to make you flow directly into the sea :)) or pool with great view!! Even the floor tiles were esthetic in a very nice way. Classic hotel It felt like the hotel had a lot of experience, yet well maintained throughout time, and managed. The room was basic, yet spacious and with an AMAZING view of the beach from the terrace and sofabed! beautiful picture of Costa Brava in the room. pleasant lighting. ( bath area was nice too) mattresses were comfortable and clean . Best of all, key to the great experience is the seamless connection with the beach.. and, obviously the gravel-pebble Beach itself, that has "magic fun stone-sand" that doesn't stick to your body and leaves you clean.. real real treat!!! Every detail at Zel Costa Brava was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the Sport Club team was always so helpful. The beach and pool areas are absolutely stunning, and the breakfast offered a great variety. Even though it was low season, we still had so much fun and enjoyed every moment. We wish we could have extended our stay—special thanks to the lovely lady who tried to help us with that. Unfortunately, since our Barcelona hotel wouldn’t allow us to change dates, we had to leave. It's a lovely resort beach is great. Beach beds expensive 8 euro each for bed and brollies regardless of time you arrive on beach, so for two of us it cost 24€ a day. The boat around to Tossa de Mar is a good trip. We wanted to do a day in Bracelona but didnt realise you have to book the public bus at the bus station 2 days before so we were very disappointed as we left this till our last day. We went to visit the local cathedral but its not open to the public which was a let down. There are lovely bars and restaurants to choose from - prices for food and drink around same price as UK. A beautiful city, with medieval historic center, museums and great restaurants, beautiful views of the river and apartments reflected on the water, the stone bridge and others, nice and friendly staff at the Tourism Office. Would return to Girona more than Barcelona. Easy transportation to Palafrugell and the hop on hop off bus to Tamariu, Calella and Llafranch. We stayed in Calella just during the day but loved it. Beautiful seaside town very clean. Lovely little shops & restaurants. You can enjoy a stroll along the sea front or take a boat trip along the coast to neighbouring villages or the mini train around the national park. There is a lot of history in the area you can visit the museum at the citadel and the neighbouring town of Castello de Emporium. If you like Salvador Dali you can visit his home in the qaint Village of Carques & the museum at Figueres. All very pretty towns. Everyone I met was enjoying themselves. Everything was perfect.
Everything was perfect. The location is fantastic in close proximity to great shops, restaurants, the beach and a castle. The staff were helpful with parking our car and making us an early picnic breakfast because we had to leave early. Be sure to arrange that when you check in. Everything was in walking distance. There is a great range of restaurants and shops in Platja d'Aro which made it ideal for us now that we no longer want to spend a long time on a beach or swimming in the sea. The beach is not ideal for swimming because the sand is very soft and at our age it was difficult to keep our footing. I could have got into the sea and swum, despite the steepness of the sand. The time spent in Figueres which was 7 days was just right for this visit, we attended a family wedding at the end of the week which was a 3 day occasion. I think that 3-4 days is probably a good length of time to embrace Figueres. The Town is lovely with nice shops, bars and restaurants and the Salvador Dali museum is definitely worth a visit. We took a Taxi to the resort of Roses which was a lovely day, visiting the beach, restaurants and town. You can also get around easily on the buses and trains. A beautiful, little town. The port is lovely and it's fun to walk around the little streets and discover hidden corners. The church is lovely with great views of the town and ocean. The town is not very big or crowded, which suited us. However, it has enough stores and restaurants. It has a wide and uncrowded beach. A very big advantage for those traveling by car is the large number of free parking spaces. Parking lots are located from 100m to 300m from the beach. Neighboring towns fare worse in this respect. The advantage is access to the suburban railroad, which took us to Barcelona for a day's sightseeing. In the summer, two amusement parks were available in Blanes (one near the parking lot - large, the other closer to the port). We missed the e-bike rentals. We had to go to a neighboring town to rent them. We did not use the clubs, so we do not judge their quantity or quality.
