- From $142.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 915 reviewsThe add-ons were great. The pools and the breakfast were excellent. However, the bed could be a little more comfortable. And our room had mold around the window frame. Not just a little bit, but a lot. I know that is a problem in some parts of Spain, due to very high humidity, but it is inexcusable for a hotel that boasts a 4 Star rating. Unfortunately, I realized it when it was very late, and we were staying only one night anyway, so we didn't ask to be moved. But besides that, the hotel offers really good value for money. The sulfur pool was very relaxing and my wife loved her massage, and very reasonable price.Guest review byJULIOUnited States
- From $98.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 1,211 reviewsProperty was very historic and beautiful. The location could not be any better. The restaurant was also excellent. Be sure to get the room you paid for as our first room was not as expected. They graciously moved us to a superior room with balcony and a view. We visited in January which is low season and there were no crowds.Guest review byMoseleyUnited States

Its a busy city with a lot going on and a good night life. i didnt explore much but it didnt seem so historical as other cities however the people are friendly and the prices are decent for Spanish ciites. Plasencia is a small town, the centre has narrow hilly streets, parking in the centre is difficult but there is plenty of free parking near to the park with an escalator to take you up the steep hill to the centre. There are several supermarkets, a Carrafeur on the North side and several smaller supermarkets on the south side. There is a river running along the East side. There are many restaurants available, fast food near to the Carrafeur and more upmarket ones in the centre. Plasencia is at the foot of the Jerte valley, where most of the cherries in Spain are grown, you can drive to the top of the valley, which takes around an hour and is very scenic.Guest review byPhilipUnited Kingdom - 10
Lovely city, well recommended.
Lovely city, well recommended. Good food generally and we found one superb restaurant. People tend to eat later than many areas so be aware of this. Plenty to do for a 2 night stay. Very interesting place.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10

Hotel lovely but surrounding cafe restaurants were a little shoddy, a sweep of the streets now and then could go a long way, not alot of variation. Nice shops selling local produce. Recommend Dalboroque lovely little bar selling craft beers and really nice wines get some tapa there too. Run by a lovely young lady named Jessica, well worth a visit and only 2 or 3 minutes from the parador on Calle Gregorio Lopez 3Guest review byMarionUnited Kingdom - 10

Hervás is a centre for walking activities in the Ambroz Valley and is surrounded by forests and mountain ranges. The town itself has a modern part with all the usual amenities. However, the heart of Hervás is the historical Jewish Quarter that runs from one of the pretty squares down to the Ambroz River. This part is Medieval and very interesting and atmospheric. Hervás boasts an excellent book shop and many shops dedicated to local produce. There are good restaurants and coffee shops. It's a perfect base for a holiday in this part of Extremadura, Spain.Guest review byLa CañameraSpain - 10

Working town - agricultural and furniture making - yet very relaxed and friendly. Easy to visit Caceres - and still enjoy the wildlife and natural environment of Los Barruecos and small town ambience. Loved Plaza with its canopy of umbrellas. Museum about the droving of huge herds of sheep between pastures is fascinating - though all captions in Spanish. Important museum/gallery in Los Barruecos.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Caceres is a lovely old mediaeval city, walled and interesting, but not too touristy. We will certainly go back, because there's more to see (even though it's a compact old town, there's a lot there). The bars and restaurants aren't a rip-off: we had a very good menu del dia for 17 euros - slightly more than one would pay in a village restaurant or a via de servicio, but we were on the Plaza Mayor, just below the city walls, and the food was excellent and very generous. The rest of the city has plenty of nice bars and restaurants as well.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists.
Interesting old town and surprisingly few tourists. We booked in advance a guided visit (in English) through the tourist office wich is to recommend. We tried the restaurants InMercado and Casa Juan and both had good food to fair prices. Casa Juan had an unusual table decor and served a typical local dinner including the sheep milk cheese Tarta de Casar.Guest review byNordjyllandDenmark - 10

Trujillo is a fascinating historical city with plenty to see. Take time to wander the streets and visit the museums. The Tourist Office, whilst helpful, could not offer guided tours in English and our 2 hour tour in Spanish was challenging even if you have a good level of Spanish. But it did introduce us to back streets which I didn't see the last time I was in Trujillo. It is also only just over an hour by car to Guadalupe, Caseres, Placensia and the National Park. Stunning scenery. We lucked out the first night finding the amazing Alberca Asador restaurant near to our hotel. There are lots of restaurants in the main plaza for all tastes with a more holiday vibe.Guest review byJosephineUnited Kingdom - 10

Guadalupe is a good stop on the way south to Cordoba and Andalucia. Off the beaten track enough to be free of too much traffic although the Black Virgin and the Cathedral attract a lot of visitors. Around the square in front of the Cathedral are many bars, restaurants and little shops. A great place for a coffee and doing some sketching. If staying for a few days you can visit Monfrague and walk in the Sierra de Guadalupe. This is the original of all the Guadalupes around the world.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom
