The stay at Garni Maas was indeed exceptional. We stayed in the hotel three years ago and had so many fond memories that we wanted to come back again. And our expectations were rewarded! The staff, the Maass family, were welcoming and hospitable, treating us as family. The breakfasts were delicious and the fact that we were encouraged to take the uneaten bread rolls with us, took care our lunches during the days. On my birthday our table was decorated, and my wife and I received huge slices of cake to take our room. Our room, Number 11, the same room as three years ago, was the best in the hotel, allowing us to stay in a medieval atmosphere in 21st century comfort. Braubach is a beautiful town on the Rhine, with a romantic castle and pretty centuries' old streets and houses. My German is limited, but I do know enough to state that our stay was "wie im Himmel"!

We didn't realize this is one of the Relais & Châteaux hotels before we arrive, and we're totally satisfied after arrival. Pretty nice holiday getaway hotel with good location, view, facility and friendly staff. There is a gift riesling in the room(yes of course, this is Geisenheim, riesling is the reason that brought us here), and it is a pretty tasty one. The hotel has a fine restaurant attached to it, but we didn't have a chance to try due to reservation issues.

Very good hotel! Perfect location, reasonable price including breakfast. It was very clean in rooms, so clean and new bed textile, regular daily room cleaning. It was exceptionally polite personnel, staff at the front desk helped to solve all questions. It is also convenient, that there is a big parking right behind the corner of the hotel. I would like to emphasize that the breakfast was simply amazing: home made style of omelette was combined with selection - 8 salads, 9 mild cheese, 6 hard cheese, salmon, sausages, meatballs. You could have as well serials, croissants, toasts, joghurts, and what is amazing - champagne! I have read in previous comments, that railway near hotel makes noise and I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel staff took the complaints into consideration and earplugs were provided for everyone in the rooms. But actually we didn't hear the noise, it depends which side faced the window. Also note that only two hotels in Rüdesheim including Traube Hotel have a driveway in front of the hotel, to all the others you have to carry your things from the parking lot by foot.

We booked for the view and the location and weren't disappointed. The room was on the small side but it is a small hotel where everyone wants a river view so more than adequate for a short stay. Nice balcony overlooking the river. We didn't use the hotel for anything other than an overnight stay so can't comment on other facilities. There are plenty of places to eat and drink a short distance from the hotel. Short walk to the river cruises and to the cable car.

Cozy charm overlooking the Rhine river and vineyards. Staff friendly and helpful, parking easy. A great escape to the peaceful countryside after a busy day exploring Rüdesheim. Close enough that you can walk into town. Dinner was delicious, doesn’t get any better with the stunning outlook. Added bonus self serve tea/coffee/wine available to purchase outside our room. Great location down to the water. Normally there was a small boat to the city centre but it wasnt working while we were there. But the hotel is still close and in a walkable distance to city centre. Great view, and very very sweet and professional staff. Both at check in and at breakfast. Altstadt and Deutsche Ecke, cable cart over the Rhine to castle, Altes Brauhaus. Options to make Rhine/Mosel cruise (from 1-3 hrs). Many nice restaurants and (whine)bars. Live music in cafe Hahn, Irish pub and some other locations (check locally). Good public transport (for e.g. to go to cafe Hahn or to Oktoberfest). Pitty that renting a simple bike is not so easy (not so many options, no guided bike tours offered, renting a bike is usually an electric bike, not cheap). If you want to make a bike tour, bring bike yourself. Also usefull to use instead of local transportation. And borders of the Mosel or Rhine are nice to make a bike tour.

It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine. If you are looking for something less sleepy and has more shopping, restaurants and winery this is a great option. All ferries/cruises stop here so it is easy to get to as well. One thing to note is that it gets crowded with the larger river cruises stop for the day or night but we didn't mind as it added a fun energy to the town and the shops were open.

Boppard is a small town, right on the Rhine.

Boppard is a small town, right on the Rhine. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants, ice cream shops, retail shops etc. The station is very close to the centre of town so easy to get to other fantastic places. Easy to get to by car. The town is quiet in the winter but still most places are open. The chair lift is absolutely fabulous, and the views are superb. However, last time we went up on the chair lift, we couldn't get back down because the winds became a lot stronger, BUT they will order a taxi for you and refund you the return trip BUT GET A RECEIPT from the taxi because they won't refund you without it. Most hotels will give you a Guest Card which gives you discounts on local attractions, and FREE train and bus travel within quite a bit region, so you can visit Koblenz, Rudesheim, Linz, Limburg (all very highly recommended) for no extra cost.

A great base for exploring this part of the Rhine. Only basic impressions as this was a stop over night en route between Bavaria and the UK. Atmospheric market place, guesthouse just a few steps away and excellent bakery for breakfast made up for a largely rainy night. Would definitely be a candidate for further exploration in the area.

Bad Ems in late September is a very quiet small town in a beautiful setting along the Lahn river. It has a lot of history in the Spa- business, quite a few impressive buildings remind of the past when crowned heads and other celebrities came here. In the direct vicinity there a plenty of hiking trails. Many interesting spots for day trips nearby: Koblenz, Drachenfels, the Rhine- and Mosel valleys with castles, the Loreley, wine tasting, the Maria Laach lake, Lava Dome in Mendig.
