Such a pretty old town centre with a square surrounded by...
Such a pretty old town centre with a square surrounded by lovely buildings. It was full of cafes and shops. Then the large castle loomed over the town from its hilltop position. You can walk through the castle gardens and along the path around the castle to admire it. From there the views over the town and across the countryside were stunning. It is a great old town with plenty of things to see, especially if you are into historical sightseeing and lovely nature/surroundings. Just make sure that you come at the right time. Lednice is an easy place to get to. Hey have great accommodations throughout the city. So many things to see and do as within the area. We loved venturing out on our adventures to see other parts of the country. It is very a beautiful area! People are very accommodating and helpful. The Old Town was nice with some lovely old buildings.
The Old Town was nice with some lovely old buildings. The atmosphere in the old market square was great with the fruit and vege stalls. Jazz cafe there was excellent. The Špilberk castle towered over the town and was interesting to visit, although the interiors were not much to see. We visited the interesting ‘10-Z bunker’ which was a nuclear bunker during the Cold War. Mikulov is a lovely little town close to Austrian border. It is famous for its vineyards and wine tasting facilities. You should definitely walk up to the Mikulov castle and Sv Kopecek hill. The town was just the right size for a three day visit. We had our dog with us so no museums or galleries were on our list but we were welcome everywhere else.
