If you’re lucky enough to have the Deutsch pancake you’ll love it. It is really quiet and you can hear the birds and monkeys from your room. We stayed in the tent which was really comfortable with a shared bathroom. Everything was very clean. The food was amazing and there are so many activities such as massage, spa and tours. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our trip was mostly rejuvenation, health and to access the volcano and hot springs. We went to Arenal park and hiked the trail to the Volcano. We saw a Capibara but most other wildlife is best viewed in the early morning. There were a lot of orchids in bloom along the trails. Going to EcoTermales Hotspring was the highlight. It's a gorgeous naturally constructed spa with layered pools, waterfalls all built with stacked granite rockery, bridges and pathways connect the pools, and there's plenty of seating, an open bar that serves the best mixed drinks. The restaurant served fresh healthy assortment of seafood and meats with veggie dishes with dessert at Lunch. The water was fed from the natural hotspring, which was circulated , refreshed constantly with fresh volcanic water. Attention to the holistic elements of nature were throughout. The scenery in Nuevo Arenal is amazing. Both the volcano and the lake offer many chances for impressive photographs. The town has the necessities that a visitor might need. Restaurants serve good food at good prices.Guest review byianCanada - 6.0
Not convenient for La Fortuna.
Not convenient for La Fortuna. It was a 20 min windy road drive each way. Nuevo Arenal was really noisy with dirt bikes and cars driving through. City has little to offer as far as food and entertainment.Guest review bytravisUnited States - 8.0

The town is beautiful and located in a beautiful lush area. There are cute little restaurants and sodas. The locals were very friendly.
