- From $344.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 2,138 reviewsWhile not as bougie as the Hayman Island Resort, there is a lot to do at this resort. There are 2 restaurants on the island and the food options include an asian restaurant and a burger and pizza type of place. But vegetarian options available too and a small gift shop in the main lobby. But the key thing is the amazing activities to do on the resort (swimming with stingrays, live reef, sunset beach area behind with a rainforest pathway too to hike, sailing lessons that can be done from the island and scubadiving from island. The island has two sides, one for day trip and one for people staying. Big pools to swim in plus beach side. Great views. Easy to access port to go to reef or white haven tours as well as snorkeling tours or back to mainland to airlie beach or hamilton island. Walaroos are cute as anything on the island and you can feed them apples and bread and rice etc. like they are your pet dog. The cockatoos too. There was also paint and sip and other activities as well. Very family friendly. There is an underwater observatory room(an aquarium of sorts) and morning yoga in that room. there is also a kids section and other such aquariums throughout. It is beautiful paradiseGuest review byEktaUnited States

Public transport was excellent and very cheap.
Public transport was excellent and very cheap. The river City Cat ferry was a good experience. Food was ok. Feels overcrowded in the city. There isn't that much to do, but you can get to other places close by, like Moreton Bay Island. Shopping is awful and expensive. Museums and Streets Beach great for the kids. Even buying food to prepare in our airbnb was very expensive. Streets Beach was great and free as were a lot of the museums. You can get places easily and quickly with public transport in the city, but Toowong Village is nothing, Queen Street Mall is ok, there is little culture/history in the city. Issues with homeless tents in parks.Guest review byAnonymousAustralia - 10.0

We visited during the annual festival of flowers.
We visited during the annual festival of flowers. Gardens are lovely. There's also interesting things to do for train enthusiasts. Plenty of shopping and dining options without the stampede of big cities. I was pleasantly surprized by the amount of green spaces and parks. Plenty of space to read a book, picnic or just walk through parks. Lovely museum and cafes to suite your needsGuest review byAnelleAustralia - 10.0

So much to see and great area to go from to visit Emu Park and go on to Yeppoon as a day trip. The Gardens, the zoo , the crocodile park all within a very easy drive from the motel. Great shopping complex and Spot light etc A walk along the Fitzroy river and a coffee and one of the cafes - really relaxed for older visitors.Guest review byDianeAustralia - 10.0

I attended a cricket game at Harrup Park, which I had never been to before. Google maps made it easy to find and the facilities are amazing. One afternoon, I walked the Mackay Bluewater Trail. It was interesting and I felt safe on the trail.Guest review byKENAustralia - 8.0

Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback Whales whether for the juvenials that are people curious (known as August whales) or the Mothers and Calves which arrive from early September through to the end of October. My focus is only on the whales but there are various trips to K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island) either by organised bus tours, self drive or by boat to the West side where kyaking and beach tours plus whale watching in season is available. See Tasman Venture web site for details.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom
