- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 725 reviewsNgaire greeted us as we arrived & offered excellent explanations on hikes and other areas of interest as well as eateries. The place was FULL of wildlife: birds, “Roos”, wallabies, was that frogs we heard at night? We felt as one with nature at this special place. The place (cabin) was complete home away from home offering comfort (our room was w/o a tub) & serenity. A wonderful experience from Los Angeles travelers! We felt the staff was truly passionate & put love & care to their place.Guest review byLindaUnited States

Halls Gap is beautiful.
Halls Gap is beautiful. We visited the new Gallery at WAMA and its botanical garden area, which we will definitely do again. There are some nice eateries. Flame Brothers was excellent, and the local wine shop stocks a great range of regional wines. The Pomonal Wildflower Show was a highlight, with lunch at Barneys. Surrounded by natural beauty it is a must visit.Guest review byBillAustralia - 10.0

Ararat is a good base to use for exploring nearby areas such as the Grampians. It has local attractions as well.Train service to Melbourne is available and coach services from the station to other towns leave from the station too.Nice botanical garden for a walk as well.A visit to the tourist centre would be a worthwile stop for information.Guest review byCameronAustralia - 8.0

Brilliant sample of country Victoria/Australia; genuine warm country welcome amid towering gums, native bushlands, great birdlife and cute animals. The easy walk through bushland to town delivers great food, sensational wine list and great morning coffee. ...and I'm a professional tour guide showing tourists around, so I'm a well-informed "purchaser"Guest review byLuigi De SotoAustralia - 10.0

Quiet and peaceful with heaps of wineries nearby, Great Western is a great location with some good food options and and plenty of wineries in the area. Terrific for a weekend (or longer) stay if you are coming up from MelbourneGuest review byGregAustralia - 10.0
Unit was very clean.
Unit was very clean. First row from the lake, so the view of the lake and mountains was magnificent. Not far from Halls Gap, and other main attractions, Brambuk, McKenzie falls, Grand Canyon walk, Balconies, Boroka, Lake Bellfield, and others.Guest review byBzykacAustralia - 10.0

The villa looked brand new and was very comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed being in a rural setting with a kangaroo visiting in the morning and lots of cockatoos. We ate in one night and visited Halls Gap the other, an easy trip in from Pomonal.Guest review byChristineAustralia - 10.0
Halls Gap has a lot to offer.
Halls Gap has a lot to offer. Scenery, great trails around the town and in the wilderness. Great town with so many nice options for great coffee and food. One of Australia's best travel designations. I have been coming to Grampians with my parents and now with my children for over 50 years.Guest review byStevenAustralia - 8.0
Liked the Wannon Waterfalls within 20 minutes of the town.
Liked the Wannon Waterfalls within 20 minutes of the town. Unfortunately, the other one was closed for repairs and signage was not used to inform travellers. So many people, including me would have driven many kms out of their way from either end of the access road to the falls. Why didn’t the authorities who had approved the repairs to Nigretta Falls consider the impact and waste of fuel for many tourists over the many months this site has been closed? There are some great bluestone old churches and Victorian style houses with great iron lace work in the township. The Information Centre is stylish and well presented with helpful staff.Guest review byGraemeAustralia
