- From US$217.17 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 976 reviewsLoved our room, a bungalow with terrace and chairs looking towards the sea. Good restaurant, breakfast and evening meals, especially breaded prawns in coconut sauce! We also ate at restaurant across the road which we enjoyed too. The pool was wonderful with great sunbeds. Sound of the waves splashing onto the shore! From the hotel there is an amazing nature walk adjacent to the shore leading up to the lighthouse, where there are great views in both direction. Very few people seem to find this!Guest review bychristineUnited Kingdom

Our bungalow had its own little private pool and a very private huge garden on the hill. Waking up, we had the view of the sunrise and the ocean from above. The private beach below is small but really beautiful, with comfy beds all over and great food/snacks/drinks.Guest review byEdgarGermany

It's a mix of old & new & has it's own charm.
It's a mix of old & new & has it's own charm. A little on the touristy side. We stayed for three weeks but Cartagena could be seen comfortably in five to seven days. We didn't go to any of the islands or do any excursions. The humidity is very high. Dress appropriately. The weather changes rapidly, carry an umbrella. The vendors are everywhere & can be annoying at times, but people need to do what they need to do. Traffic is a problem at peak times. The people are so nice & always willing to help or answer questions. We always felt very safe. Next time we will venture to some of the more remote areas outside of the city.Guest review byZ - 10.0

Great people, great food, and no worries about ICE dragging people away. Also, it is not the cheap Mexico you may be thinking of. All of the prices except dental work were the same as in the US. Nothing cheap there anymore, not in Cancun anyway.Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0

I am a travel agent and I would not recommend anyone to stay here , they are a scammer and their , they want you to pay deposit plus for electricity which is 700 pesos which they did not put in there description or policy I had to leave my passport because I told them I am not paying it. Then the room they sent me was dirty, the bathroom was very bad pipes rusted and mold filthy. The water was no good it was salt. Then electricy went away. I had a very bad experience. Do not go there and they want you to pay deposit and they don't refund. If you book it for 3 days and then you don't change your mind they don't want to refund back the cash. They are theif. Stay away from this placeGuest review byNatassiaJamaica - 6.0

The thing is that the historic centre of Santa Marta is noisy. But it is the starting point for Tayrona and Minca, as well a playa blanca (with the great Canopy). You could stay at Rodadero, but that did not look very nice either.Guest review byVerena KövAustria - 8.0

The main Playa del Carmen beaches ( Mamitas Beach, Pelicanos Beach and the one next to the Ferries are very very narrow as the sea is rapidly eroding them; thus there is very little space to sit and wherever you are, you will have locals playing loud music on their portable music players. A really beautiful wide beach with a jungle backdrop is the Coco beach which is about 2 miles long and easily accessible. The other very good beach is Playacar beach which is also long and wide but has hotels between the palms, the whole way along.Guest review byrobertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

What I really liked about Barranquilla was that I thought it was Colombias best kept secret. It’s developing a lot more and has a lot of partying which I’m not into. I really liked the boardwalk where the Shakira and Sofia Vergara statues are. The people seem very friendly. The Buenavista mall was fun and a must. Overall great city and great people. Definitely worth the visit.Guest review byPatrickUnited States - 10.0

I spent one day with a group tour around the city: caves, panoramic tour by bus, historical part and I loved it! I stayed in a lively area where on Sunday families were playing sports, listening to music, eating out and I loved it, The food is very affordable. Finally, I went by myself to the museums in the historical part again: Catedral la Primada, Ambar museum, Larimar museum. I ate at a restaurant next to the Last Columbus's house and the food was amazing.Guest review byMarinaPGuatemala - 10.0

You should accept the typically Carribean circumstances ( reggea, little shabby, motorbikes) and you will have a lovely stay there. Everything is within walking distance but you can rent a buggy or bike to go around. There are colourful festivals like the Emancipation Day or the August 7 Carneval in San Luis. Do not miss the Aquarium and Johnny Cay! The best beaches are in San Luis.Guest review byErikaHungary - 8.0

Monsoon season, meant a lot of sea weed on beaches although locals trying to keep of top of its removal and in the sea , stopping swimming, mosquitoes due to damp humid weather . Taxi is very expensive as no other public transport,so they can charge what they want , hire of scooters is cheaper.Guest review byCharmainUnited Kingdom - 10.0
