Sharjah adjoins Dubai in the UAE but there is no interconnecting public transport so you must rely on taxis (more expensive) or Uber (better choice). People in Sharjah were quite friendly, more so than Dubai although again people were not unfriendly. While there are some interesting sites to visit, it is not as grand or varied as Dubai. That said, Dubai not that special either! Not somewhere I'll be rushing back to, but if there had not been a conference to attend, I probably wouldn't have gone there in the first place.Guest review byGrantAustralia - 10.0

Umm Al Quwain is a very quite and peaceful emirate. Its a perfect place to take a break from the busy life of the city. We visited mall of UAQ. The lulu hypermarket there will cater to all our needs. Nice and peaceful city, has everything as per necessities. Loved the sea, they have Starbucks, Hardees, KFC, McDonald's etc, what else could you wish for. Definitely, a great place to visit and Flamingo Beach & Resort is highly recommended.
