There are so many reasons to stay here, #1 being the family themselves. They are very friendly, all around good people. They were super welcoming, helped us with all of our plans and even invited us to join for dinner when it started raining. It was great to practice our Spanish (we are learning) and Angel was a very good teacher, helping us to improve. They made us a different breakfast each morning, including homemade tortillas. Would for sure stay here again if we found ourselves back in Guatemala. Thanks for everything!

Do yourself a favour and book a couple nights here because they fill up quickly (4 bed dorm), and you will love it :) Andrea the owner is a wonderful host and speaks perfect English to help with your queries - on my first night the wind was CRAZY and blew something over on the building site nextdoor which leaked water into the hostel. The floor flooded but I as soon as I told Andrea, she sorted it out right away. Very professional!

We visited other towns around the lake and I loved how mellow Toliman, the town itself, was. Yea - it takes a while to explore from here but to us, that was great! It made for less of a touristy/party vibe like the other towns had. The hotel itself was perfect - Highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again.

The private bathrooms are equipped with a shower and toilet. Incredible views over the lake, friendly staff. Couldn't recommend more!

The staff is excellent and went above and beyond to make us happy. It’s also a great place to take kids. You can see an active volcano from the gardens at night.

The holiday home offers a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. I had a wonderful stay at Sunrise Lago Atitlán. The house is a true gem by the lake — simple, yet it has everything you need. There’s hot water in the bathroom, a fridge and stove in the kitchen, plus a coffee maker and, of course, coffee. The location is peaceful and perfect for nature lovers. The highlight of the house is definitely the balcony with a hammock, where you can relax and enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the lake. The host was incredibly kind and helpful — he even helped carry my luggage to the house. Sunrise Lago Atitlán is about a 5–10 minute walk from the San Pablo dock. It’s definitely easier if you’re traveling with a backpack rather than a suitcase, as the path isn’t ideal for wheeled luggage. Highly recommended for anyone looking to unwind and connect with nature!
