Such generosity and hospitality. We were looked after as if we were visiting family. The experience of Abou Simbel is one that we would have missed if we had not been staying at Wawat. We happened to be there at one of the 2 busiest days of the year. Assim, our host, personally arranged for us to attend all the festivities. He found us tickets to the night show and tickets to be at the temple for sunrise the next day, charging us only the ticket price in spite of all his work to get them. He then was up at 4am with us to ensure we were in the right place in the huge festival queue to see the remarkable sunrise event as designed 3000 years ago. We literally would not have been able to do this without Assim and Hamsah. And all with such warm, genuine smiles. Thank you.

Great apartment with nice views over the lake. Perfect location (downtown, only 15min walking distance from the temple) and very comfortable. The host Yassed is a wonderful person, he accompanied us to get food from the market and allowed to cook it in his family kitchen. Brekafast is delicious as well. Super recommended!

This was the most quiet, nice and relaxing place we found in this trip - the hidden gem of Egypt. The owner Habib was the most friendly and hospitable person we met in Egypt. It is an AMAZING place (just would like to recommend Habib to put some stones in the way to his camp and paint them in white to be easier to find his place for those coming in their own cars specially at night. It was difficult to find but we found as he went out to meet us. Or maybe to put some wooden signs showing the way).
