The place has a nice garden full of tropical plants, and an open roofed space with chairs, tables and hammocks. The breakfast was the usual Nicaraguan gallo pinto (rice with black frijoles) with eggs and fried plantains. Tasty. I made my own coffee in the guest kitchen. There are some nice walks from the place to a natural pool, the nearby (1.5 km) Finca Magdalena, and along the lakeshore past Balgue.

it’s absolutely gorgeous and located in the jungle at the base of volcan maderas. the owners and staff are beautiful and so helpful and will organise any tours for you or help you with anything you need. I also loved that there was a fully functioning kitchen. loved the family vibes of this hostel!
