The best stay of our 1 month trip to Sri Lanka. I highly recommend Amba Kola Udawalawe. We spent 3 days and never wanted to leave. Rooms and the common area are artistically designed. Super friendly host and excellent home cooked meals. Spotlessly clean rooms and peaceful surroundings. The staff were lovely. The pool was the most clean and nicest we have been in. It was very peaceful. The rooms were very modern and clean. They were very attentive and able to make changes to meals for dietary reasons. Would recommend 10/10.

Beautiful bedroom with nice balcony. All super clean. Milan is very friendly and helpfull. The food is delicious. All in all 10/10!

Tranquil wild lived up to its name. It is right next to a lake with water buffalo in it. There are heaps of birds including peacocks and hornbills in the garden plus lots of monkeys, squirrels and lizards around. The garden is huge with mature trees and plenty of space. You can walk beside the lake and do a little exploring, really nice at sun rise or sunset. The swimming pool was excellent for a bit of relaxing. Anne and Amal were fantastic hosts answering all our questions and organizing our safari and other activities. I recommend having Amal on your safari. He is full of info and has a big camera lens to get those close ups the cellphones can't do. Their safaris go into block 5 and 6 which are a lot quieter ( in terms of jeep numbers) than the main Yala block 1. We saw elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, lots of birds, and 2 leopards. Also if you have the chance to have dinner and bonfire down by the lake shore then do it, we got lucky with a stunning night and full moon rising. The food, including breakfast was really good. If you are looking for somewhere to relax with nature then this is it.

The host at Kuma safari was very accommodating, we had to move our booking back a day and he was very understanding, changing it with no fuss. They also have safaris available that pick you up from the accommodation, the guide was very knowledgeable and managed to get us to the park first and drive to places away from the crowds so we could observe the animals and nature alone. I would highly recommend staying and booking a safari through Kuma if you are going to Udawalawe!

The room is perfect! Great bed with a mosquito net, fan, shower and awesome balcony to sit on and watch the elephants go by! We did the safari with them and loved it so much! Was such an amazing experience! You can order whichever meals you please and it was always a feast!

We had an amazing time at Makulu. It’s very easy to underestimate how much work goes into making a jungle camp so comfortable and welcoming. Sami and his team go above and beyond to provide an unforgettable experience and they genuinely want to give all their guests a trip to remember. As novice campers we were a little apprehensive but the beds are comfy, the toilet and shower functional and the food is delicious. They even catered brilliantly for our children’s dietary needs. The safari trip was well organised the guide knew his animals! We even had a beautiful early morning boat ride on the river. Going to sleep listening to monkeys, peacocks and singing frogs is something we’ll never forget!

Perfect stay! Amazing host that organized the safari for us at a good price, with an experienced driver with an eagle eye. Great homemade meals, including a take away breakfast for the safari. The room was big and clean, and the location couldn't be better, right next to the entrance of Udawalawe Park.
