Perfect location within close proximity to the station, food options all around. The room was luxurious. The hotel's photos don't really do it much justice! It looks and feels way better than some brand name five star hotels I've been in.

Super spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view to the mountains. Breakfast and dinner were delicious (buffet style), enough vegetarian options. There's a free drink bar available for the afternoon/evening hours as well. I didn't use the public bath because they don't allow visible tattoo's though.

The staff was so kind and service minded. The whole experience with dinner and breakfast was exceptional, especially the staff member whom served us with excellent English. Just the whole experience was quite wonderful.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property, and free private parking is available on site. Everything, from the food to the room. I booked the smallest room which I did not know that there is a private onsen. My meals were in a separated room which I feel is better than having inside my own room. This hotel is worth staying for the experience. There are guests around but I was surprised to not hear any noises. I felt like I was being served as a royalty. The sake that I had, does not have any alcohol smell, it tasted so good and it had a cherry taste to it. I enjoyed the private outdoor onsen and I regretted not trying the public onsen. Also, breakfast usually starts at 730am but I had a train to catch, the hotel offered to serve breakfast at 7am. I was already awake at 5am to enjoy the onsen for the last time. My dinner was at 6pm which was the earliest timing.

I booked this hotel without much expectation, mainly for the convenience of traveling to Ginzan Onsen. But once I checked in, I felt a bit regretful that I didn’t have more time to stay. The hotel is beautiful and clean, the staff are lovely, and they even upgraded my room. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious. The public onsen was beautiful, clean, and very inviting, and there was even a private onsen in the room. The hotel is beautifully decorated with plenty of photo spots throughout.

We travelled from Kyoto all the way to Shikitei because we hoped it would be a memorable experience in a traditional Ryokan. It did not disappoint. Every staff member was extremely helpful, the food was outstanding, the room was spotless and our private open air onsen was to die for. They were also very accommodating for our one year old son, providing toys, baby yukata, and a variety of meals. Shikitei was the highlight of our 17 day trip to Japan.

Excellent stay convenience of hotel with location is superb. Close to everything you could need. Breakfast excellent too much choice really but not a complaint! Staff were very professional and eager to solve any issues
Everything was perfect, a beautiful ryokan on a great spot. Close to the stairway to mount Haguro. A beautiful walk. The host and his wife are very friendly people. And she cooks like a masterchef so book the breakfast and dinner! You have too because no other restaurants, no convientstores. We travelled by public transport. Well organized.
The view from bedroom!!! There’s no real need to leave the room. Massage chair in bedroom! Top quality meals - very Japanese - excellent range - we loved the wagyu beef. Matsushima is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit.
Really comfortable and luxurious. Staff were very nice and spacious rooms. Location was very close to sendai station and downtown sendai
Exceptional service throughout from the front counter staff, the staff in the dining room, and the various other departments. I was not able to get her name, but the very nice lady who served us our dinner provided exceptional service. The ryokan accommodated us even though we were late for our dinner and frazzled from a long day trip. Her service and cheerful disposition calmed our nerves. We had our personal onsen in our room. It was so calming and relaxing.
The reception rooms and lounges were large and comfortably furnished with free coffee for guests. The location was excellent for exploring the city and there was a lovely mountain road behind the hotel leading up to the peak through lush forests. The highlight was the fabulous hot and cold food provided at the expansive buffet at breakfast and dinner. The quality and selections were outstanding. The dining room also had a wonderful view over the city and the valley below.
Very impressive newly renovated rooms with high quality fittings, and attention to details. Staff very polite and professional. Superb dinner and breakfast. Outstanding onsen close to resort area. Highly recommended!
The hotel is an odd mix of dated and classy. We appreciated the music in the common spaces; it added a nice ambiance. Breakfast was good, with nice additions of grilled chicken and scallops. Staff was kind and soft-spoken. We loved how big the room was, how many towels/washcloths we were afforded, and the overflowing amenity box.
Everything, from big room size to beds quality, from excellent location to superb facilities, 5 stars experience, Friendly staff.
