Luxury Hotels in Hiriketiya

I rarely write such long reviews, but this place is truly amazing - it is something between a 5-star hotel and a hip beach community hangout. The location beyond amazing - it is right on the beach and there is a freshwater lagoon right next to the property - you can go paddle-boarding or kayaking in the lagoon if you want, or if you prefer the ocean - go there. Or both. Getting to the hotel is fun - a very narrow road meanders through a lush forest and you think you are going to the end of the world, then you arrive at a stylish hotel with a lush garden right on the beach and a elegant stylish pool in the middle. The pool looks like an architectural accent, but it is actually a pool. The hotel is right on the beach - you can even have a table moved to the sand if you want for breakfast, lunch or dinner - or anytime actually. The food and cocktails at this hotel are like at a 5-star establishment. But the staff is friendlier:-) The menu is traditional Sri Lankan with a twist of different flavors - some European, some Malaysian, a bit of Thai and African. The food is excellent, the fish is locally sourced from the fishermen that are 50 meters away. All of the rooms face the ocean. The options are a room with your own very large balcony facing the ocean, or a ground level room with your own spacious patio facing the ocean. The beach is about a kilometer long - empty, no umbrellas, no vendors, no shacks - just fishermen going about their business. If you feel like talking to them (most barely speak English) you could. If not, just set up camp under the shade of the palm tree and you feel like on a deserted island. Once that gets old you can go back to the hotel - the food, the cocktails and the service put a 5-star establishment to shame! Zander is the most excellent and amazing host ever and has the sweet, friendly dog named Loki, who is a constant source of "cuteness" around. This is a magical place!

We absolutely loved our stay at simply peace. The place is so beautiful, clean, aesthetic and the staff is really friendly. A great plus is the outdoor gym which we used daily and is super well equipped. Overall I can highly recommend it for a relaxed, healthy stay.

Cozy environment Lot of privacy. We stayed at new white color building which has only 3 rooms. Amazing wide beach which is not crowded at all. Delicious meals at the restaurant And of course outstanding management and team Thank you for treating us so cordially 🙏

This truly is a luxury property right near a secluded beach. The view from our room was simply outstanding, and what a comfortable place to spend some holiday time. Service was great and we must mention how amazing the breakfast was. It was a little slice of excellence in Sri Lanka. There are even some quite good local restaurants (Athena was fabulous) within a short walk, and several beach cafes to pick from. Loved our stay.

I almost don't want to share my review of The Last House because I want it to be my own little secret paradise! But of course, its fair to share. This is one of the most incredible hotels I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in some pretty cool places. Of course the Geoffrey Bawa factor is cool, but the fact that the house manages to strike that perfect balance between luxury, yet so accessibly and comfortable. Nothing felt contrived or overdone, the house fit the surroundings perfectly, yet you felt like you were living in luxury. The incredibly beautiful and completely deserted beach is steps, STEPS, from the hotel. Every day we were there it was less than 5 people on the whole beach. Some of the best meals we had on our whole trip was at the Last House, the breakfast especially is incredible. And the service was impeccable. Nothing was too much, and they were super flexible with us on check in and check out time. Despite the fact that this place is a 12 hour flight from my home, I have no doubt in my mind that I will be back to this hotel. 11/10!

We had our best stay so far at the Lagoon Gate Resort! We were warmly welcomed with some refreshing juice and cold towels and we had a tremendously spacious, well equipped and perfectly clean room. We really enjoyed the pool area and could even rent kayaks for free for a tour at the lagoon. The breakfast was delicious and we also booked a really good massage directly at the accommodation. Would definitely come back next time!

It's a very nice boutique hotel. There was only one other family who were staying at the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was amazing! The furniture and design in the hotel is super cool. Our room was a little bit small, but it was okay because we only stayed one night. The wifi wasn't available everywhere. The pool was really nice and clean.
