The photos don’t quite do the room justice — it’s actually much more spacious in person. We really enjoyed the peace and greenery. The host was super friendly and even went bush to help us retrieve a lost drone!

A children's playground and a barbecue are available for guests at the lodge to use. I can't really say enough positive things about Amanda and Les, and their beautiful property. They were exceptionally welcoming, and cooked us a delicious meal (South African-style braai), for dinner - which had been arranged beforehand. They (and another guest) joined us for dinner, and we all shared stories and laughter. The property is a bit of an oasis of peace, with glow worms to view at night, for those who wish to seek them out (they're fairly close to the main buildings - try the Night Sight setting on your camera). The bed was extremely comfortable, and we enjoyed the best sleep of our journey. All in all, a great experience...and a great overall value.

Providing free private parking, the 5-star lodge is 35 km from Cathedral Cove. Everything about the WoodyHanger Lodge exceeded our expectations. Warren and Carol greeted us warmly upon our arrival, delivered delicious breakfasts each morning, restocked our supplied throughout the stay, and provided excellent recommendations. We cannot recommend this enough!

The lodge provides guests with a terrace, city views, a seating area, satellite flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and an oven, and a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. A microwave, a stovetop and toaster are also offered, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. Beautiful view, surrounded by nature, felt secluded even though the road is about 20 feet above the roof level. Noise not a problem. Good amenities.

Set in tranquil surroundings with large landscaped grounds and a picturesque garden terrace with mountain views, Tongariro Crossing Lodge offers uniquely spacious rooms with historic character. A garden is featured. Nice and cozy place. The host is absolutely excellent! It is equipped with laundry, which is really convenient. It could arrange a shuttle bus from hotel to Whakapapa ski field. Pretty chill place. Definitely wanna come back next time.

The lodge offers a barbecue. Sue and David are very welcoming hosts, caring and interested in their guest. We had very good meals and conversations. We felt completely at home.
