Amazing private relaxing spot with unbeatable view of nine arch bridge. Hosts were amazing and cooked a wonderful breakfast every morning. Short Tuktuk drive to main town but was very nice to be away. Was very peaceful. Hosts were great at assisting with recommendations and taking us to places. They were so kind and generous. Would definitely come back!

The terrace:) waw..having breakfast and looking at this beautiful nature! Unforgettable! The room is quite big, the bathroom is clean! There is even a small fridge in the room and this is very useful! Everyday you get something else for breakfast! One day they made us a tea when we came back from a day trip, they have organized! Beds are veeeey comfortable plus the nets are perfect - the best we had in Sri Lanka! Do recommend! The location is far from the center, but tuktuk solves everything! We were travelling with 2 kids and they adore tuk tuk :)

For our group of six occupying three rooms, this was a wonderful place we truly enjoyed. It’s located outside Ella, but the 6 km walk along the railway is easy and filled with great views; the train ride is also a memorable experience and highly recommended. The accommodation feels authentic, with beautiful vistas and the gentle sounds of nature and local life. The host and his family are extremely friendly and helpful; we always felt safe and welcome. The owner even took us to a nearby tea factory for a fantastic private tour. Breakfast was a typical local meal; we apologise again to the host for not fully appreciating it. We highly recommend booking this place – every morning here is magical! 😊

We loved Arawe and would have loved to stay longer. It’s a beautiful place with such a unique style that’s honest to the environment. It’s fabulous to support such a sustainable and community focused business. Very kind and warm welcome from all of the staff. Always there to help. The kids loved the animals. We also participated in a morning yoga session which was just me and my 7 year old daughter. The yoga teacher adapted the session wonderfully to suit us both. The breakfast was probably the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka, so much so we asked to come back for breakfast again even though we couldn’t stay a second night.

Sat on the train writing this and genuinely feel sad to have left this place. Felt like a home away from home (with better food and views). The whole family are so so kind and we felt like and extension of their family during our stay. The accommodation is lovely with your own separate bedroom and bathroom (even mini fridge) with the most beautiful terrace overlooking the hills. We had some of the best food of our whole trip here. The breakfasts were huge and delicious and they were very flexible with timings so we could get out early for walks! We also did a cooking class with the family which was a highlight and learnt how to cook so many dishes! The son gave us a tuktuk ride to the beginning of our walks and to the train station at 0630am! (and even found out for us that the train was running from the next town instead) We also rented a scooter for the day which was a great way to explore the surrounding area and they gave us lots of pointers about where to go! Cannot fault this place at all. If you are lucky enough they have availability on your dates, definitely don’t hesitate to stay!

The perfect getaway in Ella! Located on the path to Little Adam’s Peak and within walking distance to restaurants and cafes, but in a very quiet and green area. You can watch birds, butterflies and squirrels from the confort of the patio. Beautiful, comfortable and clean room, and a Delicious breakfast served on the patio. This is hands down the most beautiful accommodation we've ever stayed in! The wooden house is newly built, super clean, and looks like a Pinterest dream. The beds are insanly comfy, we were looking forward to sleep every night. The views are breathtaking: you get a nice panorama, even higher than Little Adam’s Peak! Watch the sunset from the balcony and the sunrise from the other side. Breakfast is incredible, made with so much love and attention to detail. The best dhal we've had in Sri Lanka! Lakshan is the sweetest person ever, always helping with great tips for exploring the area. He and his family take such good care of the guests—it feels warm, familiar, and welcoming. He even organized a free tuk-tuk pickup from the train station and helped with our luggage up the last 100m of the steep rocky path. If you’re hesitating because there aren’t many reviews yet—don’t! It’s just because the place is new. 100000% recommend! We loved every second and would come back in a heartbeat.

The Spice Lodge is a special place located within walking distance to Ella center. The family that runs the lodge are the kindest, most helpful people. The breakfast was delicious, and the dinner we had was the best curry we had on our trip. Highly recommended lodging.
