The minute I set foot in this hotel, I loved it so much that I booked another night. It’s luxurious in every way, yet somehow still homely and intimate. Every member of staff was not only kind and thoughtful in helping me with my bags and storage, accommodating last-minute requests, etc—but went above and beyond to ensure guest happiness. Everyone was incredible and deserves high praise, although I must give special thanks to the head of guest experience (Francine?). Best service I have ever seen, even relative to other 5-star properties. The food was superb…I particularly enjoyed the peri peri chicken, malva pudding, and watermelon chilli mocktail. I also loved this lavender/white chocolate drink they made with nondairy milk…ugh I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! I should also note how conveniently located it is—literally right by Rosebank Gautrain, with nearby shops, restaurants, etc. Thank you for a fabulous stay! This is the only place I wish to return when next in Johannesburg, and I passionately recommend this hotel to all.

The location in Rosebank makes this hotel the only choice when staying in Johannesburg. The hotel has lovely doormen one of whom even drove us in the golf buggy to nearby Marble restaurant to ensure our safety. The room we stayed in had a seperate sitting area which was made up into a bed for our daughter, it had its own tv so she could relax with room service instead of coming out with us. The room is large with a seperate toilet from the walk in shower, great when 3 people getting ready in the morning. The room has a Nespresso machine which is always welcome! The breakfast included in our rate at the fabulous Proud Mary was perfect as it was a la carte for the main course with some juice, pastries and fruits to help yourself to. Could not fault Voco, location, the friendly and helpful staff and the freshness of the decor all made for a great nights in this city.

Absolutely loved our stay! This boutique hotel was a true gem – stylish, cozy, and full of character. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Johannesburg, Johannesburg ... a fine place some areas very good and some horrifying. Be very careful of Google Maps, especially when it asks you to change the route to save 4 minutes, Traffic can be busy and hectic to horrific.

A city with plenty of diverse neighborhoods and quite a lot to see and do, including some world-class museums, historic sites, shopping and dining. One that unfairly gets a lot of negative attention for its lack of safety (its statistically safer than Cape Town!) but in fact warrants a lot more time from a visitor. This was my second time in Jo'burg and I got to see a very different side to it. I'd love to visit again!

Jozi people have the best energy, are welcoming, the service levels are high, so it's always a vibe! We travelled all over JHB over three days, using Uber, and it was such a convenience. We ate at The Big Mouth in Sandton, would highly recommend their steak!

Johannesbourg is a beautiful city but unfortunately with big safety issues mainly in the CBD. The area of Sandton where i stayed at the Sky hotel is maybe or not more beautiful but definitely cleaner and safer. But even there walking at night above all alone, is very risky. Wandering during day time can be enjoyable though you still have to exercise care. It's such a pleasure to go for a ballad at Mandella Square where many tourists go to get pictured with the huge statue of Madiba. Adjecant to Mandella Square visit the Africa's iconic shopping destination, the huge and sophisticated Sandton mall. Have a delicious lunch with a fresh mouth watering smoothie in one of the so many diversed restaurants or coffee shops of the mall. Shopping is pricy in this sophisticated mall. Uber is the best and safest way to move around Johannesbourg.
