Great location near Siam Square accessible by walkway. Suite is large on two floors so good for people who can take stairs to the second floor bedroom/bathroom. Kitchenette is basic but luckily very close to Food factory on second floor of Siam Discovery with so many restaurants to choose from. Staff at LiT were very helpful, attentive and room cleaning so appreciated. Would stay here again.

What a lovely little “oasis” in the heart of Bangkok. I had a lovely stay here and would definitely stay again. The coffee shop piccolo does great coffee just downstairs and the staff are all incredibly helpful. Wifi and good hot shower water pressure too. Would recommend!

The Jim Thompson House boasts a distinctive historical narrative, yet it remains an entirely skippable attraction. Its exorbitant entry fees, coupled with an experience that falls short of expectations, render it far less appealing and hardly worth the visit.

Definitely worth a visit!!!

Definitely worth a visit!!! you can't escape from the 1h lasting tours (mandatory) in different languages. I joined the English tour (as a non native speaker) but you need to be lucky to be able to fully understand what they are telling you: sometimes the pronunciation of the Thai guides are incomprehensible which is a pity because they have a lot to tell. Even a Canadian couple next to me confessed later that they understood less than 50%). Other than that it's one of the few oasis' of tranquility in the middle of BKK and it's a beautiful setting within a lush green garden. Of course a Jim Thompson shop is attached to the property and offers high quality silk items like cushion covers, shawls, ties, shirts and dresses, bags and other accessories etc, beautiful items with high prices. Difficult to escape without buying something :-))

Jim T's house changes and just gets better every time I have paid a visit. Well worth seeing. They have a beautiful store selling silk garments - which are more affordable than purchasing in Europe. We also ate in the restaurant - food ok - expensive.

I love this place, and visit almost every trip to Bangkok. The house is exactly as it was the day he walked out on the trip to Cameron Highlands, from which he never returned. It is furnished with priceless Khmer antiques, and the architecture of four old Thai teak houses is magnificent.

I went expecting to hear all about the Thai Silk King's great work in introducing Thai silk to the rest of the world as a luxury item. However, the guide (compulsory) mainly spoke of the architecture of the house. There was a bit about why the house was located there. The workers who used to work for the silk factory lived across the house. I was altogether disappointed with the tour as the man himself was not fleshed out. He even mysteriously disappeared while out walking in Cameron Highlands. Such an intriguing story could have been spun into the history of JT silk and how it propelled the kingdom into high fashion. As it was, it was a dry architectural tour of traditional Thai palaces which JT put together. Go only if you are into architecture.

Ironically it takes an American to create the traditional Thai residence which is quite welcome near to the modern high rise buildings of Siam. It was interesting to hear about his life. Not exceptional, but a nice place if you are in the area and have the time.
