The hotel was located just outside the walled city with easy access through a pedestrian gate just steps away from the front entrance. Parking was a bit of a challenge (narrow streets), but the staff on check in were most helpful and it was sorted out in no time. The hotel is decorated as a medieval manor house with antiques, swords and armour scattered throughout. Check in was a breeze, but we were surprised at the size of the key. Getting to the room was simple and once there - the size of the key made sense. Opening the door took a moment as you had to unlock the door and then use a handle to lift and interior latch (it took a moment or two). Once inside, there is a plastic insert included with the key that must be inserted into a slot near the door to allow the lights, etc. to work. The room was small, but clean and cozy with a view to a grassed - terraced. The bathroom was to die for - lots of space and a bathtub large enough that I thought I could do laps in. Restaurants were mere steps away and the front desk staff were very helpful with suggestions. An unexpected treat was the common area with a large fireplace, comfortable seating and an honour bar with a wide variety of choices (you noted what you drank on a chit and provided it to the staff to be added to your room). It was a treat to enjoy a glass of port (or three) after dinner and a walk around the town. Room was quiet and the bed comfortable. Breakfast the next day was excellent with hot and cold choices, great coffee and some exceptional (according to my spouse) breakfast cakes. All in all, highly recommended during your stay in Obidos.

If you are looking for a place that is an integral part of the local history and culture, this is the place for you. Although there is no parking due to traffic police regulations inside the wall, you can park your car very close to the hotel on the other side of the wall. Very clean rooms, clean and fragrant bed linen. Very hot shower with a large flow of water. Wonderful small breakfast with regional cheeses, fresh and hot coffee, very good scrambled eggs.

Wonderfully preserved town.

Wonderfully preserved town. We stayed the night at a lodging inside the walls, and the place is magical at night and early before tourists come. Restaurants are fun and elegant or casual, and the chocolate shops are a must-try. The marshmallow chocolate eggs are incredible. We love Obidos and take all our friends there when they visit Portugal.

The castle is high on the hillside and beautiful to explore, there are scattered shops and restaurants worth visiting but prices are high. Beautiful views but recommend it as a brief visit and not a destination. Better options elsewhere.

The house was lovely, clean and comfortable. The sofa in the living room also turns into a bed and there is linen available for that too. The house is in a quite street and in perfect location, just walking distance (7-9 min) from the amazing Obidos Castle. The house is also a short drive from Peniche and Caldas da Rainha

An excellent location near the Obidos castle. The host was amazing - he surprised us with a few groceries and a small gift for the kids at the end. This apartment has a very layout, two shorts/bathrooms and is very convenient for families.

The breakfast was delicious, the location, right under the Obidos Castle was perfect, the room and all the many perfectly protected rooms of the hotel were delightful. We loved the outdoors patio, the many quaint living rooms and the wine cellar that had not been touched for decades. We felt so welcome there.

The location was magic - right in the middle of the Obidos castle walls, the room was very warm and cosy, being inside the village it was very quiet as mostly the visitors are there during the day. The staff working in the hotel were very lovely and accomodating.

Good hotel with comfortable rooms. There were 2 pools in hotel (1 outside - it was colder and 1 inside - with hot water, so if you want relax). We stayed there for 1 night. Next morning we visited Obidos castle. Very nice location to stay while travelling in Portugal.
