The hotel was conveniently located along the road around Lake Shoji and was easy to access by car; there’s also a bus stop right in front of their parking lot. The view of Mt. Fuji in the morning was amazing. The atmosphere was cozy and homey, and the dinner and breakfast (choice of Japanese or Western style) were great. The bathrooms and beds/futons were clean and the on-site onsen was perfect after a long day. The staff/owners were very attentive and took great care to make our stay enjoyable. We regretted that we couldn’t stay for a couple of more nights, will definitely come back.

The hotel room was traditional Japanese Ryokan; very clean and tidy. The spa was also great and walking distance to the lake and other hiking areas. I could see Mount Fuji from my window and dining hall.

We had a rainy stay - but still loved the traditional rooms and baths. The dinner was very delicious and breakfast was too. Location is close to more places if you have a car. Hope to come again and see more Fuji!

This place is perfect if you want tranquility. It has to have the best views in Mt Fuji. I kept waking in the night to look at the view! Buses run out the front of the hotel. There is a 7 Eleven up the road if you need to grab some food. I would suggest getting a hire car to see all the attractions around the 5 lakes. The staff are one big happy family. The patriarch reminded me of Manuel from Faulty Towers. He loved using google translate to tell you funny things! Just adorable.
