Company information

I am born and bred in the Helderberg basin so are happy to help with any questions re our area. Lived in India for 5 years, so can speak a little Hindi/Urdu. Loved India...and still do. My husband Konrad, a German Namibian, makes sure that there is never a dull moment in our household. He is continually upgrading and maintaining things on The Yard with a unique combination of new and old. He loves to upcycle material as you will notice when you take a stroll on the property. We have no human kidz, but we have 3 furry ones (1 dog & 2 cats). I love cooking/baking, crocheting/knitting, needle work and studying languages.

Property information

The Yard is a farm-style home with different unit types situated on a spacious property in Gordon’s Bay. We live in a peaceful, friendly part of Gordon's Bay where neighbours actually greets each other by name. The Yard is a 5-minute walk to the beach and views of the beautiful mountains is everywhere. We are walking distance to a few shopping centers and numerous quaint little restaurants. We are not on a main road so fortunately there is not a lot of traffic. Each unit is fenced in which makes it very safe for your PETs. We offer secure parking behind locked gates. Please make prior arrangements if bringing your pets or a trailer/caravan. The Yard can accommodate groups of up to 18 people. Groups must have a minimum stay of 2 nights and will cater for themselves from The Farmhouse or The Cottage. Please Note that we have WiFi, but there are NO TV’s at The Yard. We encourage family bonding time and getting to know each other and the beautiful surroundings better. Room Inclusions: Linen, Towels, Bed Snack plus Tea/Coffee Tray for 1 night

Neighbourhood information

The small hamlet of Gordon's Bay is the only town in South Africa with 2 fully functional harbours. Gordon's Bay is host to the South African Naval College, an officer training center located adjacent to the old harbour and yacht marina. Above the harbour on the mountainside is a giant anchor and the letters “GB”. It has many popular attractions, including Indigo Scuba Diving Centre, Rentabicycle, Bikini Beach, Horse riding, etc. Many wine farms are within 50km distance. The famous city of Cape Town is also within 50km where you can enjoy an unforgettable trip on Table Mountain, a visit to the Cape Aquarium, Cape Malay houses and so many other attractions.
