Hebrews 13:2 "Do not forget to entertain strangers for in so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels". We love meeting new people as everyone is so different. We learn a lot about life from our guests and what it takes to live those lives in some instances.

The story goes that this was the original farmhouse of the area but has still has an acre as the surrounding piece of land. It is positioned just over the brow of the hill to enjoy a good view of the gorge (particularly good in the mornings) from the covered verandah and is protected from the cold winds coming off the berg. The oregan pine floors remain in some parts of the house giving it a lovely retro feel as well as being warm and cosy in winter. Back in 1922 it was written into the deeds that a nearby spring was to remain part of the property. Yet we have to come a cross the spring though! Perhaps the historians out there could lend us a hand! The site has a fair slope to it with massive trees growing at the lower edge which are really nice to go and amble under so one can cool down on a hot day and . If you're more energetic, you are welcome to take a dip in the pool and enjoy a drink on the terrace. Go on over to the trickling pond and have a look see if you can spot the koi hiding in the shadows. Go on...Kick your shoes off and relax....enjoy the cool grass tickling your bare feet and have another beer!

Apart from the quiet leafy gardens amongst the houses and tree lined avenues, there are some rather more active areas of Kloof as well. * Krantskloof Nature Reserve - for the active walkers who wouldn't mind taking a rugged path to follow the stream *Stokers- a family orientated pub set up in the quaint old Kloof railway station alongside the tracks. *Shopping Centres - three different ones - -Village containing Spar's delectable bakery, -PicknPay with Virgin Active gym, -Delcairn containing Woolies fine foods (a stone's throw across the M13) * Steam Train Experience - historical return journey to Inchanga - half way point between Durban and Pietermaritzburg. * Hussar Grill - great steaks and wine. * Memorial Park - Nice for picnics, recreation and dog walks. * Bellevue Cafe - restaurant - serving great meals and treats. * Kloof Country Club featuring golf and tennis.
