Aloha, we are Terry and Jill, we are Realtors and we have been coming to Hawaii since the 1980's. We used to always go to Waikiki but now we find that West Maui in general and the Honua Kai Resort in particular take the Hawaiian experience to a whole new level. We love living in Vancouver B.C. but this place is exactly what we dreamed about in a 'home away from home'.

Aloha! Welcome to Paradise! Welcome to the Honua Kai Resort and Spa, Maui’s newest luxury beach front resort. Located in West Maui, North Ka’anapali Beach has been voted one of the top 10 of beaches in the world. This complex, which opened in 2010, is simply amazing and comprises 43 acres of manicured tropical landscaping. The Honua Kai has open air lobbies with ocean views, a fitness center with state of the art equipment, infinity pool with cabanas, aqua loungers and hot tubs, lazy river, a kids area pool with sand bottom, grotto and a water slide, all overlooking the back drop of the Ocean. We also have a nearly identical suite. If you need a second suite or this one is already booked, please check it out. If you need something a little larger check out our 1 bedroom and den which can sleep 6 people. Many travelers have commented that the inner courtyard suites,while beautiful, have lanais that face each other, are close together and generally they feel that privacy is somewhat lacking. Our suite is in the newer Konea tower on the quiet side overlooking tranquil Honoapi'ilani Park which provides privacy. This is the largest 1 bedroom plan at Honua Kai.

Neighbourhood information

We love gourmet cooking and we find that having a fully stocked kitchen with everything from the salad spinner to the martini shaker was ideal for us. When we land at OGG we grab the rental car and then drive 1 block to Costco and load up. In the afternoon we will relax by the pool and then usually hit Duke's for Happy Hour to have a cocktail and an appie and listen to a little live Hawaiian music. We follow that up with some time on our lanai before either firing up the stove or heading to the bar-be-cue areas that feature many Viking Grills.If dining out is the plan we take a stroll down the boardwalk to one of many restaurants along the way or head into Lahaina. The boardwalk that separates the Honua Kai from the beach also comes in handy in the morning. We like to grab a coffee at Aina Market and take a leisurely stroll towards Black Rock and Whaler's Village. For those that love to run or jog the boardwalk is a scenic treat.
