The Little Owls Nest apartment is located in the historic town centre of Castro Verde (on the Camino de Santiago trail) and has a view of the famous Campo Branco Alentejo countryside. Here you can walk to cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shops and the royal Basilica and enjoy a relaxing walk, ride or run in town or the countryside. We have decorated the "Nest" in what we like to call "Alentejo Bohemian". This is a mix of modern and antique furniture to provide comfort and the ambiance of the Alentejo. There are 2 bedrooms : one with a 140 bed and view of the countryside and the second bedroom with a single 90 cm wide bed and no window. We provide sheets and towels and extra pillows to insure your comfort. Castro Verde is located in a central location to explore the Alentejo and a perfect place to stay for : romantic getaways, bird watching, bicycle touring , and business travellers who need a comfortable and convenient location .
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Castro Verde! We moved to Portugal a short time ago from Belgium and are very enthusiastic about living in the Alentejo. I speak English and Peter speaks Flemish ,we are slowly learning Portuguese ...) Peter and I look forward help make your stay interesting by answering questions and making suggestions. We are available in person or by text message and whatsapp throughout your stay. We use the google translate app when needed so texting is always easier.
Castro Verde is a Unesco Biosphere Reserve and because of the unique location of the apartment (on the edge of the town), you will have all the convenience of being in town while enjoying the sites and sounds of many species of birds including our resident pair of barn owls that nest in an old chimney .
