About this property

A historic castle dating back to the 14th century, the Castello Di Gabbiano is set amongst 100 hectares of olive groves and vineyards. The rooms come in a Tuscan Renaissance style. Florence is 22 km away. The property is a working farm, with trekking paths amongst the vineyards. The large garden is complete with outdoor swimming pool. The rooms are charming and elegant, and feature rustic terracotta floors and wooden furniture. Air conditioning is available in the summer. Breakfast at the Castello includes Tuscan specialities, and is served in one of the drawing rooms or out in the garden. From April until November, lunch and dinner are available from Tuesday evening to Sunday evening at the restaurant 70 metres away. Wine tastings are organised daily.

I love my work and Castello di Gabbiano. I took over 20 years of management, I'm getting to know the place and the beauty that surrounds it. I am sure I will do a good job supported by the wonderful staff I found on site. Barbara

Property information

Our property and castle go back to medieval times, and still today it is one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany. The castle is surrounded by vineyards and olive orchards and our guests enjoy the walks, runs or cycling on the property or the hills around us. They will also enjoy the sun, a swim or a glass of our Chianti Classico at the pool side or a wonderful meal in our gourmet restaurant.

Neighbourhood information

We are in the beautiful region of the Chianti Classico with its rolling hills. Only about 30 minutes from Florence with its historical sites and museums and about 50 minutes from Siena. Our visitors can visit all the historial cities and sites of Tuscany in a day trip. For who enjoys wines, there are many possible winery visits in our direct region as well as Brunello, Vino Nobile or the Bolgheri area.
