We are proud to say that the Joglo Exotico is a true gem and very tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. The equipment is the finest, the rooms are very spacious and the kitchen perfectly equipped, if you want to eat. The spacious bathroom has a very modern walk-in shower and a huge bathtub. There is also an extra dressing room with wardrobe and locker. The very large double bed is super comfortable. On the cozy terrace you can enjoy the delicious breakfast with a view of the garden and the grandiose landscape. The Joglo is just a few minutes outside Batu and fortunately off the hectic drive of Batu or Malang. (This was written by one of our guests!) The original Joglo is 50 years+ and during the reconstructions we have taken care to use as much as possible the original parts. We also have taken great care to leave as much as possible the vintage feeling of the house without making any compromises on the interior. Though this house is old you will find all the luxury you might expect. We are truly convinced that we can get a big 'Wow' also from you once you visit us. Besides all of this you can truly enjoy the beauty of Batu countryside including clean air.
My name is Dian Oberholzer and I'm married since 15 years to Rudolf Oberholzer a Swiss national. We have two wonderful kids Darren 9 years old and Naomi 14 years old. From 2008 to 2014 we have been living in East Africa where both, my husband and I, have been working. During this time I have set up a Coffee Shop in Bamenda, Cameroon which eventually became the meeting point for locals as for tourist as well. I also did set up 2 guesthouses in the rural area of NW province, Cameroon. As I have studied tourism in Bali this was all in the line of my knowledge and expertise and I'm very happy that I can now spoil our guest in my own property.
Joglo Exotico is situated a bit outside of the Batu city center yet not far away from all the interesting places Batu has to offer. Situated on a small hill and surrounded only by nature, you can enjoy clean air and a beautiful undisturbed view of the nearby mountains and plantations. The property is off the main road so no traffic noise will disturb you. Also we have no direct neighbors so also from this side tranquility is guaranteed. Our private house is on the same plot but the Joglo is completely separated and fenced for your complete privacy. If you do not have your own transportation Grab (Motobike taxi) and Uber are easily available. If you wish to rent a car (International drivers licence required) we can assist you. Batu is well know as tourist place and has a lot of restaurants with local cuisine and is also well know for its street food. (Must try!) A medium sized shopping center is also only a few kilometers away. Local supermarkets and other facilities for your daily needs are all near by. As we are living a little bit outside of town, we have two guard dogs on the property but you will not be disturbed by them as we keep them at our back yard.
