We’re a local couple who love welcoming guests to the Highlands and helping them explore everything Inverness has to offer.
Hosting is a joy for us—we genuinely enjoy meeting new people and sharing tips on the best places to visit, eat, and experience in the area. Whether you’re looking for scenic walks, hidden gems, or restaurant recommendations, we’re always happy to help.
We live just a 5-minute drive from the property and are always contactable by phone. While we respect your privacy, we’re nearby and on hand if you need anything during your stay.
Outside of hosting, we enjoy spending time outdoors and with family. Life keeps us busy, but we’re passionate about making every guest feel welcome and at home
Inverness isn’t just the gateway to the Highlands—it’s a vibrant destination full of history, nature, and culture. Whether you're drawn to ancient landmarks, scenic walks, or local cuisine, the city offers something for every traveller.
The property is just a two-minute walk from the River Ness. From here, you can enjoy a peaceful riverside stroll into the heart of Inverness or explore the tranquil Ness Islands—wooded islets connected by charming Victorian footbridges. It’s a favourite spot for families, dog walkers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
Within walking distance, you’ll find a wide selection of restaurants, bars, and cafés. Feel free to message me for personal recommendations—we’re happy to share our local favourites.
For a scenic escape, Dores Beach is a short drive away and offers breathtaking views down Loch Ness. It’s popular for wild swimming, paddleboarding, and picnicking. Alternatively, head along the opposite shore to Drumnadrochit, a picturesque village, or visit the dramatic ruins of Urquhart Castle, perched on the loch’s edge.
There are several beautiful beaches nearby, including Rosemarkie Beach, just 20 minutes by car. Enjoy a coffee at the beach café and, if you're lucky, spot dolphins playing in the surf. Inverness also makes a perfect base for exploring the North Coast 500, Isle of Skye, or Fort William—all within reach for day trips or longer adventures.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the area is rich with walking and biking trails. Some local highlights include:
Craig Phadrig: A short forest walk to an ancient hill fort with sweeping views over the Beauly Firth.
Fairy Glen at Rosemarkie: A magical woodland trail with waterfalls and wildflowers.
Culloden Battlefield & Clava Cairns: A powerful blend of history and nature, ideal for a reflective walk through Scotland’s past.
