The 70s finish of this property was outstanding, it was like stepping back in time! The space was ideal for a family or larger group. Set back from the main road, but inbetween two towns, easy to get to by car or train (bottom of the road) and a...

The seventies theme has been executed with panache. We loved the design of the place, especially all the glass, that made it so light and gave great views.

Pant Golau House (meaning valley of light in Welsh) is a spacious detached 4 bedroom house surrounded by nature, in Snowdonia National Park and set in a recently landscaped, tranquil, garden complete with stream and fabulous views towards the sea. The artist-led design gives a contemporary and stylish take on the original 70s features. The location is delightful, offering stunning views and a wonderful array of local wild and farm life; the birds are notable for their diversity. Despite its tranquil setting, its perfectly located for the convenience of modern life being only a 5 minute walk to the station and coast road and not much further to the village of Llanbedr with its splendid array of shops and eateries. Harlech Castle a UNESCO World heritage site is only 3 miles away and its local golf course, Royal Saint Davids, has been voted one of the Uk's top 100 courses. With the fabulous Welsh coastline to one side and the mountains to the other this family (and pet) friendly holiday home, including a games room, is truly a wonderful place for a break. The recently landscaped gardens also allow you relax at home and enjoy a range of garden amenities, seating areas , lawns and terraces, a stream and even a"raiders of the ark style ruin. The gardens are securely fenced allowing you to manage the opportunities for pets and children as you choose. Please note this is a period house which has kept many of the original 1970s fixtures and features, they were in excellent condition because they had been used so rarely ( about once or twice a year we have been told ) and it was great fun to give this 70s house a contemporary update which we really love; Orla Kiely patterns along with original mid century furniture and 70s colour, art and vintage objects. I hope you enjoy the retro vibe as much as we do.
I’m a creative professional , an artist if you like , but I have always enjoyed renovating properties especially when they have a historic charm or something unique like Pant Golau House . Im easy going but professional; and work very hard to make sure my properties match your expectations.
Llanbedr in Ardudwy is the gateway to the Rhinnogydd mountains; it is situated on the banks of the river Artro which comes down from Cwm Bychan, a place noted for its beauty and romantic scenery. Great walks from the house towards the village explore ancient history and biodiversity with Celtic rainforest - like that found at Coed Crafant nature reserve, a designated site of special interest. The valleys of Cym Bychan and Cym Nantcol ( make sure you stop by the Nantcol falls ) are both rich in biodiversity and history. Of course, the amazing local beach is a must. Just walk down the road to the 19th century Pensarn Quay ( built to export Llanbedr slate) and marina, turn right though the field and walk a few hundred meters. You can also drive to the same Llandanwg beach and there is a café in the car park. Harlech beach or Morfa Harlech is a designated nature reserve and part of The Wales Coastal Path also with its own parking. The trains service is a brilliant way to explore the coast and there is also a bus service. By train, you should definitely visit Barmouth, a great traditional seaside town. Harlech castle is also on the train line. You could even walk to Harlech castle up over the ridge and get the train back. It’s a world UNESCO heritage site so also a must see. There are also lots of eateries, pubs, and interesting shops to explore in the village. My favourites are the bakery and deli and super useful DIY (and everything else) shop. At the bottom by the Beach Rd, there is a great value Premier Inn. In Llanbedr the local shop in the village stays open often till 8pm and has everything you need. There is an award-winning butcher in Dyffryn and Ardudwy 3 miles in the other direction . Llanbedr Eating and Drinking The Victoria Inn and Ty Mawr hotel in Llanbedr both provide great food - last orders 9pm but double check. Wenalt café is a great place for a fry up and good coffee.
